| | |  Delbonnel to be Half-Blood Prince director of photography?
There’s been a new rumor shedding light on the crew of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince for which the filming is to start in a matter of weeks. More precisely, this rumor consists of a new director of photography, Bruno Delbonnel, who would be replacing Slawomir Idziak, director of photography for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Delbonnel’s work has been nominated for an Oscar twice now ( Amelie and A Very Long Engagement), under the category of Achievement in Cinematography.
It is important to remember that Warner Brothers has yet to release the official information as to who will take part in the crew for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, and that this is but a rumor.
Personally however, I would love this rumor to be true, as A Very Long Engangement is among my favorite movies, and its cinematography is simply breathtaking.

It'd be pretty cool if this rumour was true.
We can only hope until we know for sure  But it'd be awesome to have a new director of photography I think. The directors changed a bit before, so why not change the people that film it too?

I really liked the cinematorgraphy of OoTP (that was about the only thing...)
As for this possible new guy, I think it might be a nice breath of fresh air. He has a lot to live up to, though. I should go watch those movies to see his work, now.

Actually who I'd really like to see as director of photography is Janusz Kamiński, his style is amazing. And seeing as the most films he does are with Steven Spielberg, we could have him in the deal as well 
But that doesn't seem likely. Bruno Delbonnel is a pretty good choice, I've always been a bit disappointed by the cinematography in HP for some reason, this could change matters.

Interesting.... 
I wonder if that will actually come true. I'd like to know Yates' opinion on his cinematographers. I can see him changing it though. The next movie does have a different premise and in his words, "a romanic comedy".
I guess I'll have to pick up Amelie and A Very Long Engagement and check out the cinematography!
