Post Deathly Hallows parts I & II confirmed for IMAX 3D

Earlier this year, Warner Bros announced that Deathly Hallows parts I and II would be released in 3-D in conventional theatres. Today, the studio revealed that both installments of the final Harry Potter films will be out in IMAX 3D, as well, in their entirety.

Quote:
Under the agreement, Warner Bros. movies that will be released in Imax are: Legends of the Guardian, The Owls of Ga'Hoole 3-D (Sept. 24, 2010); Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 (3-D) (Nov. 19, 2010); Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II (3-D) (July 15, 2011); Happy Feet 2 (3-D) (Nov. 18, 2011); and The Hobbit (Dec. 2012). Warner Bros. and Imax also plan to release an additional 15 films over the course of 2011, 2012 and 2013, including Gravity, Dark Shadows, Fury Road, Batman 3, and Superman.
The decision to convert Deathly Hallows and twenty other Warner Bros features out between now and 2013 was due to the studio's success in the large screen, according to Dan Fellman.

Quote:
"Our track record with Imax has been incredible, and incorporating 3-D into this collaborative effort will serve as the ultimate experience for our audiences," said Dan Fellman, president, domestic distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures. "We are extraordinarily proud of our forthcoming slate, and eager to offer these films to audiences in the most premium of movie-going experiences."

Sounds great, I knew IMAX would not be far behind.

Ooh, IMAX is lovely! Only problem is, for me at least, I can't seem to keep track of everything that's happening because the screens so big. Usually if I see a movie in IMAX, I'll see it in the normal theaters first. Probably what I'll be doing for HP 7 because I don't wanna miss out

Well it looks like I'll be seeing both films more than once. I'll have to see it opening night in the regular theatre and then in IMAX 3D at Universal.

Oooh! This is so EXCITING! I've never seen a HP film at IMAX in 3D, but I am for sure going to see the last two, and especially the last with all the battling and such! Ahh! I'm so excited!

There are a couple of big ones in Manhattan - I always go to the huge one at Lincoln Center for Potter IMAX (I've seen PoA through HBP there).

In small screens, yes, there will be the normal 2D version along with 3D. I'm fairly sure there won't be an option with IMAX, but we're currently inquiring on a confirmation.

Oh this sounds fun!!! IMAX is the greatest even if it's not in 3-D.

But sad. My eyes are bad and can't see 3-D.

But I'm still going!!!!!

DEFINITELY watching this!!!!! And I'll probably see it in the regular theater as well, just 'cos I want to get HP-ed out. They're the last films, for Merlin's sake!

And NOW I know when the Hobbit comes out. My dad'll be happy.

AWESOME!! I'm going to watch both parts in all 3 versions: 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D. I can't wait!!!!

WB is rolling in the dough. I forgot they bought New Line, so that means they get the money from the LOTR and the upcoming Hobbit films, in addition to the Superman films, Batman series and of course the juggernaut, Harry Potter series.

This is really exciting news. I can't wait to see HP7 in 3D. I'm sure it'll be an epic experience, especially towards the end of the movie with the huge Hogwart’s battle.

It’s Scary how THe Hobbit is coming to theatres on December 2012. But I'm sure I'll be sitting at the theatre eating popcorn before I get knocked over by a meteor LOL

Let's hope they do a really good work, and not the utterly lame of some films in 3D I've watched lately.
Both our films are more than worth a good job.
