YES! I'm glad they came to their senses and are offering a DVD somewhere that will have more than just deleted scenes. I was sorely disappointed, but now overjoyed! |

Well, AshleyWheat, I personally have the individual DVD movies so I'm not getting the years 1-7 box set and Part 2 isn't even out yet anyway.
As for the Blu-ray, (and I know you said DVD) I'm not getting a Blu-ray player, too expensive and not worth the money.
I WAS getting the regular one-disc DVD but I was dissapointed that this year we would not get one for Deathly Hallows Part 1 to go with my other 2-Disc Special Editions of the past Harry Potter films.
Now Walmart offering this for us in the US so it's the best decision for me. Tons of Special Features and the movie
Don't have to take my choice but I hope this helps

I have a PS3 that offers blu-ray and DVD so whichever is fine for me. I just cant decide whether the 3 disc pack is better than the 2 disc one in comparison with the extras. The extras are what matter most to me. But, the 3 disc one has the option where I can put the movie on my phone or Ipod.
In the past, I would get the 2 disc special edition HP ones, but ever since I bought Inception for the 3 disc special edition, it seemed like there was so much more to offer in extras.
Oh, decisions, decisions. I still have a couple of months to decide.
And thank you for your insight as well.
Do you think that the special features that are offered on the 2 disc one will be the same as the ones offered on the 3 disc one? Thats the only thing that's holding me back.

quick question, aside from picture and sound quality, is there ANY difference between the "3-disc BLU-RAY" and "2-Disc DVD" in terms of extra features? meaning, will there be more extra features on the blu-ray as opposed to the 2-disc-DVD???
i remember a while back, you guys at snitchseeker said that the following features will ONLY be on the blu-ray, but NOT the DVD: Quote:
– Sneak Peek: First scene of HP7.2
– Voldemort’s Secrets
– The Women of Harry Potter
– Rupert Grint: Not Your Average Guy
^is that still correct...??
someone please tell me. cause, if there really isn't any difference between the "3-disc BLU RAY" and the "2-disc DVD" in terms of extra features, i do NOT wanna buy the blu-ray and pay the extra $5.

as for the better picture and sound quality...i really don't see what the fuss is all about...? i bought a blu-ray player recently and got some blu-ray discs, and i really don't see much of a difference. certainly not worth the money it costs to switch to blu-ray...

I recently purchased an hdtv and had to buy a new dvd player because of the hookups with the hd converter box. I didn't want to go the blu-ray route right now but found a great dvd player from Sony that will up convert dvds to 1080 and the picture is great! My friend at work has a blu-ray player and said that he can't tell a big difference between regular dvds and blu-rays because the BD player up converts. So I'll be just happy with the 2 disc set...will be hitting Wal-mart at midnight

Hopefully it's also at Wal-Mart CANADA. Sometimes Wal-Mart USA and Wal-Mart CANADA don't have the saime features. Hopefully it isn't the case for this.
Hopefully...

The first story mentioned had the RUMOURED extras, which weren't confirmed, and why the story was removed in the first place. The confirmed extras, from Warner Bros, can be found in this story. http://www.snitchseeker.com/harry-po...-2011-a-79519/
From what I can tell, the only big difference is that the Triple Play is going to have the Deathly Hallows 2 preview, and that of course it'll have a Blu-ray version of the film.

Normally I would be so excited for this. But this time I think I will hold out for a parts 1 and 2 set. (Maybe my husband will buy me this one for my birthday) In the meantime, do we know when the next Ultimate Editions are coming out?
