Voting is open from now until June 5, 2011, the night of the awards show in Universal City, California. Tom Felton commented on the nominations soon after they were announced. Quote:
"That's awesome," Felton told MTV News about the new nomination. "People have been voting, so it's amazing."
"It was a kind of a blur last year, so I'd be very excited if I get the chance to go back and do it again," he laughed.
"All I can send is my endless appreciation to everyone who is online and campaigning," he said. "I really appreciate it. It's an endless, sweet gesture, after 10 years, that Draco gets a lot of love. It's ironic, in a way, but I love it and appreciate it very much."
"In a way, even though he's known as a slimy bully, he's not really that villainous," Felton added. "There's actually a sweet little boy there. They love to hate me!"

I think you're right ... Tom Felton is not really the worst villain of the saga ... they should have better choices... but I'll support Harry Potter anyway I'm too glad

Why in the world were Dan and Emma nominated for "best kiss"? It wasn't supposed to be all lovey dovey and what not, it was supposed to scare poor ickle Ronnie kins! Oh well, hope everything that has to do with Harry Potter (except for the kiss) wins!
Why is Twilight always nominated? I hate Twilight (no offense to those fans out there) I love Harry Potter though!

They never nominate Rupert for anything, it's a shame too because he was really good in DH. While I don't think Tom should be nominated for Best Villian, I'll vote for him anyway. I'll always support Harry Potter!

Wow, I wonder what movie is going to win this one?  Honestly, this is ridiculous. Just like last year, where Potter was snubbed by MTV in general (since they made it all about Twilight), Twilight is going to sweep every category, even best picture. In a way, it's quite funny that one of the worst films of the year, which will get a Golden Raspberry nom for sure, will also get voted the best film by fans. I don't mean to be negative but once those narrow-minded voters go at it, nothing's going to stop them. I don't have anything against Twilight or Twilight fans in general but when you let your fandom get in the way of seeing a real work of art, you’re in trouble. Same goes for the Potter fans. I love Potter and I would love for it to win; however, I’m voting for Black Swan and Inception all the way. They were the standouts and they should win but for some unforeseen reason, I believe Twilight is going to knock them out.  Just call it a hunch. 
Btw, what on earth is up with Dan and Emma being nominated for the "Best Kiss" award?! It wasn't even a real kiss, let alone something significant to the pairings in the films. Once again, this is why the MTV movie awards are dominated by the worst in film since it always misses the whole point of a film's plot. But I do have to say, Twilight might be able to give the others a run for their money when it comes to "Best Fight."

i really wish rupert had been nominated for the acting category... his performance is, and always has been, LEAPS and BOUNDS better than dan's.
and i'm a little upset about the best kiss nom. while i can definitely acknowledge the kiss as hot and steamy, my first thought was "when the heck did HARRY and HERMIONE kiss? ever?"... and then i remembered. it's not a good thing that they kiss, like someone else mentioned above, it's to torture poor ron!, so i don't even consider it a kiss for harry/hermione in my book.
i'm glad tom is nominated, but as someone else mentioned, he had barely any screen time in this movie.......
emma definitely deserves her nom, but against natalie portman?...then again, if twilight could win ANYthing, i don't think the MTV voters are actually concerned with the caliber of the performances.... so kstew will probably win in that category, too....
anyway, i'll be voting, even if i don't necessarily agree with the noms. don't want to see eclipse beating out the deathly hallows.... | |
