Congrats to the visual effects team!

Does that mean HP didn't get long listed for any other academy awards?

That's not how it works; visual effects is that rare category for the Oscars that they do announce long-lists for. They don't do that for any other categories (as far as I can remember).

its time to choose between what is right and what is easy

I actually read this first on another site and completely missed seeing Harry Potter dh right at the top I was furious to see it didn't make it

I am much happier now I looked a second time
they so deserve a nomination for their hard work

Moooooooo. :) || Have a supermegafoxyawesomehot Christmas.

Well, that's no surprise. I haven't watched the other movies yet (besides Transformers ), but I have a feeling there's going to be a lot more tough competition than last year. Anyways, good luck, HP!

Just some Oscar-tracking thoughts: Harry Potter's biggest competition is Hugo and Rise of the Planet of the Apes. I think though that with Harry Potter's traditional effects (non-CGI) they have a chance of winning. Almost every scene in harry Potter has a diverse array of visual effects used. What would help HP in winning is a lot of the competition have similar settings used, (Hugo, Sherlock, Pirates; Super 8, Transformers, Rise) but HP isn't safe from that since it also has similarities to others. The very best bet of HP is its role in reviving(?)/ making the Brit a powerful special effects company(?) in the industry. Similar to what LotR did for the Australian/New Zealand effects guys.

I'm saving all these Consider images as this is the most I've seen of them and it IS the FINALE! After the Oscar's we'll only have Pottermore to mull over.

Thank you for clearing that up. I was getting worried too that it was only nominated in this one.

Back to topic: It should win several awards. If yo-u come to think about it, Oscar is one of the only major contests that Hrary Potter has never won in. Go Potter!

A ship in harbor is safe — but that is not what ships are built for.

One Oscar nomination already? Go HP But I also spy a lot of other awesome movies

Hope they're also nominated for the other categories

HP needs to win an Oscar!!!! Especially w/ this last movie. If they don't receive one I'm gonna hunt down whoever decides the Oscar winners and hit them with a hammer flip

Sorry, just recently watched "Harry's Nightmares" from Potter Puppet Pals (if you've seen it, you'll get the reference )

Finally! A more realistic consideration. The HP team truly deserves the nomination for all they have done in the past 10 years. Well done!
