| | |  Deathly Hallows Hogwarts Express photos & info on Luna's possible abduction
As announced earlier in the year, Deathly Hallows Hogwarts Express filming took place at Rannoch Station in Scotland. More information on that was released from a crew member working on that set, including what the train scene was shot for, as well as new photos courtesy of Ron Rail from the September shoot. Quote:
Filming with the train did take place during September (I was there) but the shoot only lasted a day and a half and comprised of five runs. Because of the weather, they only managed to film on three or four of those. The location was Rannoch Moor (where they did that cool flying shot for HBP in 2007) and I was told by one of the studio chaps that they were filming exteriors for a scene with Neville, Luna and Ginny on the train. There were none of the actors present and the train was filled with local children from Fort William.
The part they did the next morning featured a Deatheater suspended from a crane according to the guy I was speaking to, though I was unable to go back for that. There were various tape markings on the windows, which I was told were datums for post production CGI.

Those pictures are wonderful!! I'm excited to know that the Hogwarts Express will appear in the finale because JKR did not comprehensively mention this ride in the book but it's always fun to see that on the screen.
And Scotland is a stunning country for a train delay so good choice!!!

I'm so excited that we'll be seeing a few scenes with Ginny, Neville and Luna, and it won't be completely focused on the trio, because that way we will get a little insight into what is going on in the real world. Even though we don't really get this in the book, it'll be nice to see in the film.
