The Observer has a new interview with David Yates, wherein the Order of the Phoenix and Half-Blood Prince director talks about how he got the job and the meetings he's to have with J.K.Rowling about the sixth film. Quote:
He finished Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix just five weeks ago and is already in pre-production on its follow-up, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. He seems genuinely to have no idea if he will direct the final film; not surprising given that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows isn't published until next month.

I'm really looking forward to having her around; she's grown up enough to say that the film is a separate entity to the book so she always leaves the director to get on with his job. It's really great that JK is going to really consult with him greatly on HBP. I love the direction he's taking HBP and I really hope he's a fantastic director once I see OOTP.
