Summary:
The Age has a new interview with David Thewlis aka Professor Lupin in which he mentions another actor attached to the HP films, whom we have never heard of being connected to Harry Potter before.

Article:

David Thewlis interview and more casting rumors

The Age recently held an interview with David Thewlis aka Professor Lupin in the new Harry Potter film. The interview also includes a brand new picture of the actor. Some of the language in the article is only for mature readers.

He had this to say about the latest installment in the franchise:

Quote:
"Tim Spall, who was made up as a rat, . . . said, 'You know, I always wanted to work with you three but I thought it would be in a David Mamet play or a Scorsese film, not like this'.

Quote:
"Someone said it was like Mike Leigh on acid. Me, Tim (Pettigrew) and Gary (Sirius) have all worked on Mike Leigh films before."
David also refers to Ray Winstone.

Quote:
"Someone said it was like Mike Leigh on acid. Me, Tim and Gary have all worked on Mike Leigh films before, and I believe Ray Winstone is working on the fourth one, so come the fifth film there'll be a scene with me, Gary, Tim and Ray Winstone all together."
It was rumored in January that Ray Winstone would play Mad-Eye Moody in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, but Warner Bros. recently announced that Brendan Gleeson would play the role of Mad-Eye Moody. It is possible, as in Ian Brown's case, that Ray Winstone will make a cameo appearance in the fourth film as an unknown wizard.

This means that Ray Winstone may have a part in either film four or five, but he is not going to be playing Mad-Eye Moody. He is still to be portrayed by Brendan Gleeson.

Sorry if this is a stupid question but who is Brendon Gleeson? What other movies/tv/plays has he been in?

Hmmm... well he did say "I believe" so he could be wrong. Or, yes, he could play an unknown wizard. Plenty more people do appear in GoF, however, including at the quidditch match, from the other schools, the triwizard tournament and so on...

Does anyone know who is playing Bagman or Bill and Charlie Weasley? Because all three of them are in the QWC, and I think they start filming that in July, because that is when Bonnie Wright(Ginny) starts filming and her first scenes are at the Burrow w/ Bill and Charlie and at the QWC with Bagman.

I just read something about the guy that plays Mad-Eye. It said that he acted in the Tailor of Panama. Didn't Daniel Radcliffe act in that too?

TonksSB: if you click on the link provided it goes to a page on Vers-whatever that web sight is (mentioned at the bottom of the article) which, if you scroll down, shows every movie that he's been in. It includes Troy! I don't know who in that though...

I think all the people cast so far look quite good for their individual parts. I just hope they can act them well.

Can't say anything to it, coz I dunno any of those actors :whisle:
But though I like David, I didn't think him very suitable for the role of Remus, so I hope they're doing better next time...^^

i dunno, always imagined mad-eye as taller and alot thinner than brendan gleeson is. something more along the lines of john cleese's stature in the monty python days
