Veritaserum held a brief interview with David Heyman following the ' Goblet of Fire' press conference yesterday. He spoke about the Umbridge & Luna castings. Quote:
Heyman also said that "we are in negotiations with Imelda Staunton" for the role of Professor Umbridge in the movie. Staunton said on ITV last week that she had been chosen for the role, but it now seems as though that announcement was somewhat premature. More updates on that topic as they come.
Heyman also told us that Luna Lovegood auditions are going "really well. Early days yet, but we're, you know, we're meeting, and look forward to finding her. We've seen lots of girls - a couple thousand.... We scour."

Hope that they will choose the right person to act as Luna...because I don't really agree with the casting of cho you know....

Hmm...they scour...what are you cleaning the shower?  Seriously, though, I hope they get someone perfect for the part...but seeing Cho...  and Fleur at the ball... *double * I have faith.  Screenwriters though...yeah, that's another matter all together...*frowns*

I hope they do and they say they are still looking and watching every opportunity but I've sent in about 5 letters now and i have described myself and I'm extremely similar to Luna and they haven't even had the decency to reply to my letters I'm going to bombard them with them like in Harry Potter and The Philosophers Stone!! Plz just reply to them! I check the post every morning, and my email address and all the websites I know!! its not fair!! love alicia xXx

They have to choose the right person for Luna. Otherwise it won't be right watching it. She has to be just as goofy as Luna.

Oooh, I really can't wait to see them choose Luna. I forsee a series of "She's all wrong! I didn't imagine her like that! Shes ugly!" rubbish that was thrown at the beautiful Katie Lueng when she is finally announced. But I think that whoever they choose will be perfect because they are really looking far and wide.

I think imelda staunton is probably the right person for umbridge ... she is exactly how i imagine the evil old bag!!!

She probably announced it so that she could secure the role. Neat little trick really. It's the best way to get people's attention and when everyone's like "Umbridge!" it sort of puts the producers in an awkward position. Not saying it will work, but it's most like a trick from her. heh. But if they're in negotations, she'll most likely be Umbridge. AICN reported it and they're rarely wrong.
I can't wait to see who they've chosen as Luna.

They sound like they're really trying hard to find a girl perfect for Luna, and I hope they do! I agree, she has to have those big, dreamy eyes, or else she just wouldn't be Luna!

*growls* So far they've done a pretty bad job with most of the casting, so they better not screw up on Luna or else i'll come and eat the casting directors in their sleep.

I didn't get an answer to my letter too... But I mean if I'm not for the part then I'm not!
So I really hope they will get a great actresse to play Luna. Someone down to earth, talented and that looks like her. It must be a hard job and plus nobody sees the same Luna! | |
