It was previously reported that Teresa Palmer would star alongside Dan Radcliffe as his love interest in his new film ' December Boys'. She briefly talks about him in an interview with The Advertiser. Quote:
Teresa Palmer will give Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe his first on-screen kiss.
The 19-year-old from Clearview has been cast as Daniel's character's love interest in the $6 million Australian film, December Boys, being shot on Kangaroo Island in November.
"It is a bit daunting because he's such a huge star," Teresa says. "It is amazing - even though he is four years younger than me!
"(His involvement) is going to be so beneficial for the film."

I thought I read on danradcliffe.com that there was no love story in the film and that'd just been a rumour. Oh well it's gonna be interesting that's for sure. I don't even see a big deal in the kiss really. It is just a movie.

What was said is that there's no lovestory in the book. Several reputable sources (including Variety) reported that the film version does in fact have a romantic storyline. In the book the characters are 12; in the film Dan will play a 16-year-old.
