| | | Dan's charity raises £945 for children
The charity that Dan Radcliffe supports, The Demelza House Fund, held their 6th annual birthday celebration last Sunday. DanRadcliffe.com helped to sponser the event in which balloons were released with Dan's face on them - one for every £5 donated. Fans of Harry Potter & Dan raised a staggering £945 (nearly $2000) for the Hospice.

| Thats cool! Well done to them. I hope that the money they made makes a difference. Daniel should be proud that he has influenced people into making a difference. |

This is what the charity does: Quote:
Children and families come to Demelza House for (respite) short-term care, symptom control and palliative care and bereavement support. Each stay typically lasts a few days. Families can choose to either leave the child in the hospice's care while they take a much-needed break or remain with the child at the hospice and spend a little "quality time", while the hospice staff take on some or all of the caring role. The hospice treats each stay by a child as a "mini-holiday", organizing activities, outings and themed events in a bright and happy environment. Demelza House also offers support groups for the siblings, parents and grandparents of a severely ill child, to help them explore their feelings and share experiences and, if necessary, to cope with the loss of a family member.
