I really hope Pottermore is another HP book, but maybe something about the Marauders or something. :') Too bad he'd not be interested to play Harry again.

give Dan some time, he's at that crucial stage of trying to define himself outside of the franchise that gave him his career, that he's not just "that Harry Potter kid" but that he's a bonafide actor.

i've heard the same talk from Harrisson Ford with the Indiana Jones role and he's still back decades after despite his successful career. its different when you enjoy the crew you work with and for Dan this is one such experience that i'm sure he will want to go back to eventually.

I understand what he's saying though. It would be a bit odd, but still, alot of actors come back to a role after a few years. I think it would be a great way for him and the other original cast members to pay homage to the franchise that started most of their careers.

I dont understand but Dan started this role at 10, 11ish and hes now 21. do uu not think he would be used to that role and emotionaly attached 2 it? i know that the worlds got more film characters to play other than just Harry but he should be glad if another book is wrote and then going to be made into a film because

1: the books that got made into a film gave him his fame ((was going 2 say career but he was in something when he was younger))

2: His fans would love it which should make him happy.

Either way every1 has diffrent oppinions and i hope him and the rest of the cast crew ect. behind the world of Harry Potter end up in another film that every1 goes mad for ((and hey the twilight series is nearly over so none off them will go there Yippeeeee cus Robert Pattinson went 2 the dark sidde O.o))

I agree! Even though the filming wrapped a year ago, Harry Potter isn't really over for him yet because DH part 2 hasn't been released. So even though he has kind of moved himself away from Potter by doing How To Succeed, Woman in Black and other projects, he's still very much involved in Harry Potter so he hasn't completely gotten rid of it yet At this point it's completely understandable that he feels like that. But his perspective may be completely different when he's managed to establish a career outside of all this and everything has settled down. But we'll see. Never say never. Who knows what the future holds for him and all of us.

When it comes to Pottermore, I find it very hard to believe that it'd be another book... I would love to read about the Marauders though, for example! The encyclopedia would also be awesome. But I kind of think that a new book would be a way too obvious answer to the question of what Pottermore is. I mean, I just kind of feel that Jo knows the name "Pottermore" will immediately cause speculations about a new book... It'd be so JK to surprise us all with something completely different.

I agree with Dan's coments. If he manages to build a career away from Harry, seperate his name from Harry. Then why go back. J K herself is in the same situation. She now has to produce work that isn't Harry related, if she is wants to seen as more than Harry's creater.Those of us who want to trap both JK and Dan into just these roles aren't fans in the true sense of the word. Agreed. Look at what's happening with the Hobbit. Elijah Wood and several others from the LOTR franchise are reprising their characters after 12 years and doing different work.

I think right now though it's just a relief for him not have an entire franchise on his back, I just hope he appreciate the fanbase and that no matter what, for many generations to come, he will be Harry Potter to alot of folks no matter what he goes on to do. Harrison Ford is a prime example of this, he has had several different roles that were great but he will know most always as Indiana Jones or Han Solo.

That being said I agree with him and that I don't think JKR will write another Potter book ( if she does it will be YEAR from now and I would bet it would be about the marauders). I can see her doing the encylopedia she has mentioned before but even that will be awhile.

I'm sure whatever Pottermore is probably won't involve another movie franchise, so Dan's probably safe in that regard.

He's said that he's very proud of Potter but, I don't think I blame him for his views right now. They could change in 10 more years so...whatever it is, I wish him all the best of luck.

And I think that Dan is right with what he's saying. He probably loves potter and all but he's getting tired of it. He wants to be known for something other than just "Harry Potter" So I understand where he's coming from.

I don't know but the way Dan,Emma and Rupert has talked in the past 10+ years was enough for Harry Potter for them so they will have to be hurting real bad in their curreer to bring back their character

I completely understand why he dosn't want to play Harry. It's been 10 years, and if they do more and more, it might be too much for him. It's good for him to be doing other projects and things like that, I'd love to see what he works on next (other than How To Succeed). He's such a great actor.

As for going back to reprise one day - I agree, don't go back, surely we can find someone who loves the character more!
