| | |  Daniel Radcliffe talks end of Harry Potter films, 'How to Succeed' musical transition
Daniel Radcliffe was profiled in the New York Times today, discussing his transition from the Harry Potter series to How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. New photos of Daniel out and about in New York, as well as rehearsing for the musical, can be found in our galleries. 
On why he chose to transition from Harry Potter to the Broadway musical stage: Quote:
"[To] prove that a child actor can go on to have a career with longevity.”
“If I can actually do it,” Mr. Radcliffe said of his latest stage adventure, “having been in one of the biggest franchises ever, then that can end the debate. It is possible. That’s what’s my mission is.”
On the end of the series and how Dan perceives it: Quote:
“For me I’m done, I’m finished,” he said. “People have to remember, we are not mourning the death of an actual person. There is not an appropriate grieving period which I have to observe.”

And when he was approached separately by the director and choreographer Rob Ashford, who said he wanted to make him a triple threat, Mr. Radcliffe recalled, “I was going: ‘O.K., yeah, I’ll do dance lessons, fine. But you are swimming against the tide here, Mr. Ashford.’ ”
It was also, as Mr. Radcliffe realized, a very strange project for him to take on. “I think to a lot of people it’s a slightly confusing choice,” he said, “but I like that.”
“If you’re enthusiastic enough about stuff — even if you’re not good at it — your enthusiasm will get you to the point where people allow you to do it enough so that you become good at it,” he said.
Dan's Harry Potter costar, Gary Oldman (Sirius Black), whom Dan always spoke highly of, as well as director David Yates, were quoted in the article commenting on the young actor's break from the franchise to 'normal' acting roles. Quote:
[Oldman] added that Mr. Radcliffe was taking nothing for granted, and shrewd choices at this crucial juncture could go a long way toward his professional durability.
“He realizes that once ‘Potter’ ’s finished, he is in the marketplace with all those actors who are going up for the same job,” Mr. Oldman said. “And just because he’s been Harry Potter for 10 years doesn’t mean a thing.”

David Yates, who directed Mr. Radcliffe in the last four “Potter” films, including its closing act, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2,” said that despite Mr. Radcliffe’s outsize stardom, “he’d be more comfortable being one of the boys,” whether helping a film crew clean up after a late-night shoot or deciding to star in a Broadway musical.
“His way of dealing with it,” Mr. Yates said with a laugh, “is to try and pretend that he’s normal, and dance with everybody else.”

I can't wait to see them in other projects after Harry Potter but them saying(from what I hear) no more Harry Potter at all is sad, what if JKR writes more Potter the next generation with their kids,I would hope they could play small parts like the Dursley and Rons mom and dad did during the series
