| | |  Daniel Radcliffe talks Deathly Hallows split, new Harry Deathly Hallows Part II promo
The next issue of Total Film magazine will feature a new interview with Daniel Radcliffe about his work in the Harry Potter film series. The publication released a preview image of their feature, which includes a new promo shot of Harry from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II, and a comment from the actor on the Deathly Hallows split.  Quote:
“We could never have adapted it into one film.”
“If you come to me with a satisfactory adaptation of the seventh book into one film, then we can have this debate! All the books from The Goblet of Fire onwards were big, but with every one, you could cut swathes out without detracting from the main story.”
On why this one’s different, Radcliffe explained: “In The Deathly Hallows there are no subplots. It’s all the same story and it’s hard to lose a page.”
"If we’d have done it in one film we’d have had to reconfigure the entire story and it just wouldn’t have been an adaptation of the book.”

I agree, to begin with i have to admit i thought it was all to do with money, but they could NOT have left anything out or made a 4 hour film, anyway...means we get to hang onto Harry Potter for a bit longer & we don't have to say goodbye just yet

If you've read Deathly Hallows, you know that they had to put it into two films. And that's actually cool, because when you watch Part one in theaters, you know you still have one more film and it doesn't feel like it's really the end...until part two.

Then it took another 5 months to get "Deathly Hallows: Part 1" ready for release with editing, visual effects, and music. Then another 8 months to get "Deathly Hallows: Part 2" ready. That's 30 months total. There's no way they could've done that for GOF, OOTP, and HBP as well and still kept Dan, Rupert and Emma in their roles. We would've had two, maybe even three different Harry, Ron, and Hermiones, and probably more directors too. It would've turned into kind of a mess, I think. I don't think the other ones needed a whole extra film, but they did need another 15-30 minutes added onto their running time. I don't understand why the filmmakers always got soooo freaked out whenever the movies ran anywhere near 3 hours and felt like they had to be completely hacked down.

yeah Daniel make sense in this interview... DH doesn't really have any subplots. It's like JK Rowling had no more time for subplots and created a wonderful epic ending.

Yeah, GOF should have been made into 2 movies. They ruined it by removing so much that was in the book.
They were so smart on making it into two movies.
