| | Daniel Radcliffe & 'How to Succeed' cast rehearse for Thanksgiving Day Parade
Daniel Radcliffe and the cast of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying hit the drenched streets of New York City on Tuesday afternoon, where he and costar John Larroquette led the team for a rehearsal of 'Brotherhood of Man' for Thursday's Macy's annual Thanksgiving Day Parade at Herald's Square in Manhattan - which will begin its shows at 9am EST. Photos of Dan and the crew in raincoats rehearsing the number can be found in our galleries.
Also, while attending the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 DVD/BD luncheon on Monday, Dan spoke to the Wall Street Journal about the chances of the finale receiving Oscar recognition, and Harry and Hermione's dance in Part 1. "Do I think I deserve an Oscar for this film?" he asked. "No, not really. But of course I wouldn't turn it down! That would be ridiculous."
The 22-year-old Mr. Radcliffe said he believes Alan Rickman should be handed a trophy: "I don't think anyone else is going to turn in as emotionally powerful a supporting performance, and with that amount of pressure."
"David [Yates, the director] said, 'I want a scene with you and Emma where it could happen,'" Mr. Radcliffe recalled. "Just for a second, we led the audience down that path. They're two teenagers who have been left together in a tent for months. It's miraculous nothing else does go on between them."
"I know some of the audience kind of wanted the Harry-Hermione thing to happen," Mr. Radcliffe continued. "I knew people were going to project sexual tension."
As for Mr. Radcliffe's off-screen girlfriend, "We saw it very shortly after we got together, and she howled with laughter at my awkward dancing," the actor said. "But it's a lovely scene."

Gad, I wish Yates would have stuck with canon and not tried so hard to push the H/H thing. If many years down the road they ever remake these films, I hope that's one scene that's dumped (of course, I hope there's new screenwriter who is absolutely faithful to the books instead of "mostly" faithful).

I love all the photos, haha! Dan looks rather lovely wet, doesn't he?
And meh, I could have definitely done without the H/Hr scene in part one, it was just so out of place and the only time you heard "modern" music in the entire series, really. It was just awkward.

They would be horrible movies if kept absolutely faithful.
Movies are not books, and shouldn't be.
@amandagayle
"the only time you heard "modern" music in the entire series, really."
Completely false. Off the top of my head, GOF, OOTP, HBP, and DH part1 all had modern music, as Harry lives in modern times. There are also references to modern music in the books.

@SybilT - I love you! You took the words right out of my mouth!
@YodatheHobbit - Are you kidding me? How are you a fan of the movies and not the books? There can be a way to get done, just look at LOTR. Some bits of the stories were tweaked but not much. It is making sure you are faithful to the journey of ALL characters and not just who you like. i think at times Kloves forgot about that as well as Yates.
