| | | Dan responds to Weekly Reader interview
An interview with Dan was recently published by Weekly Reader Magazine. Dan has now responded to the article regarding something he was quoted as saying about Rupert.
This is what Dan was quoted as saying: Quote: How do you get along with other cast members?
Me and Emma [Watson] are like brother and sister. We don't have huge fights, but we do have altercations. Rupert [Grint] I don't really know. I don't spend that much time with him. Emma and I spend a lot more time together.
And here is his response: Quote:
I usually do not make any comment on postings on websites however, I have been made aware that a simple answer I gave in an interview to Weekly Reader re my relationship with Rupert has sent people into a maelstrom of speculation. It has shocked me that the words "I don't spend much time with Rupert" has been interpreted in so many grossly inaccurate ways.
FACT: I like Rupert, I get on with Rupert, we are friends and when we are on set together we have a good laugh.
We don't spend much time together off set - because there isn't any! Those of you who are familiar with GoF will know that there are many scenes in which Ron doesn't appear. Also, I am still at school and when I am not on set filming I am in tutoring and when Rupert is not needed for filming he is not in the studio. But, we are good friends and any suggestion otherwise is wrong.
Dan
CBBC Newsround have also reported on this now, their article can be seen here.

Glad to see they are friends off screen as well. Probably why their chemistry on screen is so good!

A magazine interview wouldn't be an interview if they didn't add things to your comments. lol You know let's give em something to talk about. Sell more if there's some type of scandal. -sigh- This is why i plan on staying away from magazine interviews. lol

Aww cool. It did sound a bit misleading tho didnt it! But if he took the time to make that statement it just goes to show that he and Rupert do get on. Its soo sweet of him the way he put that straight. It must be hard not having any spare time!! Id hate that!! Good on you Daniel!

| It was his mistake...coz he did said that "Rupert [Grint] I don't really know" . I think that he should think twice before saying something like that. |

I personally couldnt care for their private lives, let them live. But anyhow it's good to know, because if you dont have good off screen chmistry, it'll show on screen.

| Yeah, I thought there was something wrong with that. It just didnt seem like something Dan would say especially claiming for PS, CoS and PoA that all three of them were very close. However I have heard him say before that they dont see much of eachother off set. When I first read that it made me feel as if Rupert wanted to be an outsider of the group but I knew that couldnt really be true as everyone saw him as the comedian of them and he seems to get on well with everyone. But maybe with new cast members always being added they also spend time with them rather with eachother and this might cause them to drift apart slightly. I mean they are all of different ages so it's maybe more natural for them to spend time with people in their age groups. |

Ouch! Table for one with a side order of sour milk please.
Could Dan be anymore touchy about the interview?
I think he could of made his response more simple and with a little less attitude i reckon.
We already knew the situation of:
> when dan isn't filiming he's being tutored
> when rupert isn't filming he obviously won't be in the studio -since he's finished school and all
> and the fact of fewer scenes between harry & ron.
So its obvious they they would spend less time together both in and out of the studio.
Its a pity he's let an interview article get to him like that.
Anybody agree or disagree with me on this? Quote:

Was that really necessary? How would you explain to adoring fans that you don't really hang out as much with a good mate anymore? As Dan has since made clear, its not in a bad way and i would heavily presumme that his intentions for "less-hang-out-time" was to be due to other commitments from both parties. Besides, i wouldn't be suprised if that interview was known to be short. Its diffiuclt to think on your feet when you don't know what questions to expect.

It's good to know Dan sorted out the problem with fans and their over-reactions(surely there were some! ). I was reading the interview yesterday i think it was...and i thought it looked abit odd too(didn't bother me!) But anyway, now other people will learn not to believe everthing an interview article says...(I hope!)

LOL Dan needs to re-read the answer that the magazine gave so he knows why the answer had put everyone in a tizzy. That article makes it sound like he doesn't know Rupert at all, rather than not spending time together... that'd have been more acceptable to people I think. In any case, I'm glad that he cleared it up for everyone.

Good It sounded like he had just met him a couple of times and didn't really know him. That scared me.

He can get all upset that we misunderstood, but I still think he should have specified that they don't spend much time together off the set...which is understandable. Anyway, glad it was corrected. I'm actually somewhat amused that so many people were offended for Rupert that he actually wrote a website...something he claims he never does! lol.

well at least they get along! i did get the impression that they werent friends!
has anyone else noticed that as hp goes along in the years that ron is less and less apart of the books and hermione is more? it all started with gof when harry and ron drifted apart and it seems that fans were lead to believe that dan and rupert did also! which i think they are mixing reality with fiction. im not blameing anyone cause i did to but well whatever... gald to here they get along alittle |

Glad he was sweet enough to correct the mistake! I think the trio has to have fun filming together or the films just wouldnt be as good as they are! Dan really seems like an all around nice guy, just like the rest of the trio!

Well that's nice that he said that he still is great friends with Emma but I think before he said I don't know he should have thought of it more. But I understand that there all different ages so they kinda want to hang out with their age group....

It must be hard to say something and then have people interpret it so many different ways. He probably gives so many interviews that he doesn't really think too much about it and I think that is completely understandable. I know it would drive me crazy to have to respond to so many different people and then have them all respond wrong.
