| | | Dan Radcliffe talks Harry & Ginny and more in Half-Blood Prince (UPDATED) Entertainment Weekly has listed Half-Blood Prince has one of their 12 big movies to come out in 2009, featuring a shot of Harry and Ginny about to kiss, and a quote from Daniel Radcliffe about Dumbledore's funeral and kissing Bonnie Wright: Quote:
Imagine making out with your sister. Now imagine something less taboo, and you'll know what it was like for Daniel Radcliffe to mack on Bonnie Wright, who plays Harry Potter's future wife Ginny Weasley in the sixth installment of the magical series. ''Harry's got a real thing for her, and that is slightly odd, because when we met, I was 11 and she was 9, and she was only ever Ron's little sister,'' says Radcliffe, now 19. ''But that all changed, and here we are snogging.''
Shooting Dumbledore's funeral was another tough scene for Radcliffe, as it took on the personality of an Irish wake thanks to some not-so-mournful extras: ''Because there's a lot of people there, it's one of those things that takes on a party atmosphere.''
The photo can be seen here: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince will be released July 17, 2009. UPDATE: Thanks to Susie for a scan of the magazine, featuring the above-shown photo and article, which can be seen here: |

That should be an interesting scene. Right? I'm actually looking forward to seeing how they do it. The kiss between Harry and Cho was too lame.
Hey, am I the first to post? Cool!

Hey, am I the first to post? Cool! Haha. The H/C kiss was awkward looking. It seemed like they were 2 feet away, and they just stood there. Hopefully Harry and Ginny will maybe throw in a couple of moves. Heh |

I know, and David Heyman confirmed it too. I think, given by Dan's quote here, that they may have shot it, but just didn't keep it in the final cut of the film, which is a shame.

I thought they didn't even film the funeral scene... weird...
Bonnie looks lovely in that picture, though.

I agree that kiss was awkward and lame.
This one should be much more interesting!
I hope the funeral's really there...funny about the Irish wake, but that's right.

They can't cut Dumbledore's funeral, that would be too... wrong!
But yeah, the scenes in this movie should be quite interesting, I think

I'm sort of mad that they're cutting out the funeral. It's kind of important.

I can't wait for HBP. It's taking forever to come out.
ETA: I'm really hoping that Dumbledore's funeral is an additional scene they've added since the initial preview. The funeral was not there initially and that was a bad decision by them.

I thought they said there wouldn't be a funeral scene...well I hope they changed their minds or something because HBP without Dumbledores funeral just wouldnt be the same =/

Please dear God PLEASE tell me it was just misdirection regarding Dumbledore's funeral taken out!
If I'm not mistaken, Irish wakes tend to be somewhat almost joyous occasions, it's more of a celebration of the life the person led than a mourning of the fact that they're not with us anymore.

I Cannot Believe They're Not Doing Dumbledore's Funeral. I Mean, That's Just Insane! That's Got To Be The Most Emotional Part Of The Whole Book And Theyre Not Even Going To Put It In The Movie?! Thats Is Just Wrong, Man, Just Wrong. I Was Totally Looking Forward To That Scene, As It Was The One That Made Me Cry In The Book. I Cant Believe It.

The way Dan worded it sounded like they actually filmed the funeral scene, but it was cut out for whatever reasons mentioned. Or, as MuggleNet put it, 'we figure Dan's referring to WB's alternate scene that pays tribute to the wise old man.'
I hope they actually did film it, and they at least put it as a deleted scene on the DVD, or, if we're very lucky, they added it in after the screening a few months ago.
In the almost kiss photo, Dan looks really stiff. Like he's literally frozen! Or is it just me?

I'm still sticking with dissapointment, especially seen as I'm still seething from reading the test screening info from a few months ago.

I can't wait to see the kiss. Maybe the kiss won't be as "awkward" considering the fact that Harry's kissed a girl before and surely Ginny kissed Dean.

The Harry/Ginny kiss is going to be sooo sweet. Hopefully it won't look as ... weird ... as the Harry/Cho kiss did in OotP.
