In an exclusive interview with Page of DR.co.uk, Dan Radcliffe has spoken about his reasons behind choosing Equus as his stage debut. Quote:
It makes people question their values. It makes people question, what is more important; having all this passion in your life and leading your own life to the fullest, or becoming what would be termed an acceptable member of society. And so actually it does I think make people...I don’t think you can see the play and listen to it properly without thinking, “what do I hold dearest, do I hold my relationship with other people to be, to mean more to me than my relationship with the world as an organism?"

i think it's right for him to "expand his limits of acting" but that brings a lot of controversy to the parents that are allowing their kids to watch the films. when the kids see it on the internet and television and stuff...what do you think the kids and parents think??? | |

Honestly? I can't understand! LOL But only because it looks more like double-talk, you know -- when someone seems to be saying something using a lot of big words, which can actually be said in simple and fewer words.
Like why does he have to use the word "organism"??  I for one wouldn't like to be referred to as an "organism" LOL Can't he just simply say "human being" or something?!

You know what I don't exactly agree with what you are saying here. I'm sorry but I think that when the an actor goes on and does a different show a different play or movie you should be respectful and go and support them. The actor shouldn't be shunned for being and playing more than one character. He wanted to say I did it for myself and that to me is a strong statement.
For example, look at Idina Munzel, she was the orginal Maureen in RENT and she was also the original Elphaba in Wicked. Do people discriminate her for that? No, and yet because of the pictures from Equus people are shunning Dan, its not fair or a just thing to do.
Having bias's against most actors and not one is wrong. However, I do think that Rupert Grint is a marvouslous actor I think that its important to be understand and open to when the actor wants a different scene and different location.
