| | |  Dan Radcliffe shirt auctioned for Broadway Cares
A shirt worn and signed by Dan Radcliffe was recently auctioned at a performance of Equus to benefit Broadway Cares, a fundraising competition currently going on between theatres to raise money in order to support those with HIV/AIDS. Quote:
And here Dan came prancing back on stage wearing an Equus T-shirt, grinning from ear to ear and exuding enough energy to light up half of Broadway. The cast then started making quips about how the shirt had been worn by Dan during rehearsals (Dan silently shook his head 'no'), and that he'd slept in it (again, he shook his head to indicate this wasn't true), but when they said he'd perspired in it, Dan started rubbing his chest and sides energetically to make sure the shirt was nicely soaked with sweat while the crowd roared with approval. It was absolutely hilarious!
Someone then thrust a sharpie in Dan's hand for him to sign the shirt and the bidding started at $100. Dan egged the crowd on by saying things like 'come on... it's worth at least a million dollars!' and his cast mates joined in the fun, coaxing the audience to bid generously. The winning bid was $1600 and the entertainment value was priceless!

You do realize that if that shirt falls into the wrong hands, someone might use it to make a voodoo doll or something. Lol. I wish I could bid on it, but my financials are a little strained right now.

That is really funny! When I went to Equus, right after the curtain call, Dan ran out and immediately returned with a huge poster that the casts signed. He was quite enthusiastic about it and waving the poster to the crowd while one of the cast members talked about Broadway Cares. The crowd was also getting into it. That was also fun, but not as fun as when he rubbed the shirt all over himself. That was great!

Oh wow, that's really great of him. As a Broadway fan, I know the organization Broadway Cares and it's really good and I'm glad Dan's participating- after all, technically he is now a Broadway actor!
That's so funny about the sweat- but I don't see why anyone wouldn't want taht shirt!
