| | | Cub reporter wants 'no kissing' in HBP
We previously reported that Megan Calcott, 10, from North London, was the winner of the Daily Mirror's ' Half-Blood Prince' Conference Reporter Contest.
Megan has today written an article in the newspaper, talking about her win, what she likes about Harry Potter and what she hopes to see in ' Half-Blood Prince'. Quote:
Even the Dursleys are a bit funny, even though I think they are horrible.
I liked Hagrid right from the beginning but my favourite character is Hermione.
Quote:
I could learn magic and try and make my dad fly - or make him lose weight. That would be an excellent spell.
Quote:
In the next book I want to see a lot of mystery, a lot more of Voldemort and a lot more battles. But no kissing. It's disgusting.
Her parents have also written about their daughters win, explaining why they think Megan deserved to win the amazing prize. Quote:
Andy, 44, says, "I started reading the books to her when she was six and she loved the magical element straight away. We had to have a chapter every night."
Quote:
"She had earache and neck pains when she was four," says Andy. "They did a lumbar puncture and it confirmed it was meningitis.
They gave her a 50/50 chance of pulling through and said the next 24 hours were critical. I thought I was going to lose the dearest thing to me. It was like having your soul sucked out by a Dementor.
"But miraculously she came through. I don't know whether we caught it in time or if we were just very, very lucky."
Megan's winning illustration of Hermione can be seen here. A picture of Megan with her copy of ' Order of the Phoenix' can be seen here and a shot of Megan with her parents can be seen here.

To start reading HP at the age of six is quite early.

She seems so nice, but NO KISSING?! Yeah, right. Especially since JKR already said that Harry would be giving and receiving kisses. . . though it could be to his new pet dog, so I'm not sure I would look into it THAT much. lol But Harry is going to be 16, kissing would be good for him! |

We spent time here. We made friends here. That's a part of us.
Cause Hogwarts is bigger than any of us, of any of it's founders,
and it's going to be around long after we're gone.
Maybe we'll see our kids come here one day.
That's the thing about Hogwarts.
No matter how long you're away from it, there's always a way back. |

The part about making her dad loose weight, I would do the same. My dad always complains about it but never tries to go on a diet or exercise, so I'm with you on that one girl. Although the kissing thing is bound to happen, sorry.

LoL, no kissing? I highly doubt that's going to happen. He's a 16-year-old boy, what do you expect from him? Just because most of the wizarding world is replying him doesn't mean that Harry isn't going to get a girl anytime soon. As for my personal opinion, I hope he does. He deserves at least a little happiness.

Yes, she says that now but I think she will be thinking differently in a few years time. J.K has to offer something to her devoted romance driven shippers(i think that may include me) and HBP is the perfect oppertunity. I suppose at that age I probably thought that it was gross all this romance stuff but now that I am 16 I would say my dependance in life(well sort of) is shipping romance whether it be in a novel or in films. And if what you want is not fufilled in them you yourself feel so unfufilled even if its only a novel or a film and that isnt really real life . I live for romance basically whether it be shipping R/Hr or nearly crying at the end of The Amber Spyglass because Will and Lyra could not stay together despite their love for one another. *leaks a tear* What was I saying, she has to accept that there will be romance in this book and many people have given us hints to that. And as for me I'm in love with love. *sigh* Yep, I need help. |

No kissing in the books or movies that is very odd and it its not digusting. Even if the girl does not like kissing is going to happen in the movie b/c it happen in the book. Well the HP characters are get older. |
