In an interview with Rope of Silicon, Prisoner of Azkaban director Alfonso Cuaron threw his hat in the ring to direct another Harry Potter film. Quote:
I would love to have the opportunity to revisit the Harry Potter universe. It’s an amazing experience to do those films because while you are doing those films you are surrounded by this amazingly beneficial energy. Everything that is surrounding J.K. Rowling’s creation, and I’m not talking about the film franchise, but J.K. Rowling’s creation is so impregnated with this amazing beneficial energy. For me it was two amazing years of my life and I wouldn’t mind at all revisiting that.
He went on to add that he was in Order of the Phoenix director David Yates’ office when J.K. Rowling was on the phone. Quote:
I was in his office and since they are doing the Harry Potter movie right now David was talking to Jo and said, “Hey, Jo wants to talk to you,” and she just wanted to tell me that she really liked Children of Men (Cuaron’s latest film) and you know, it is just one of those opinions that really counts. She is a woman that I deeply admire.
And when asked if he’s discussed anything officially with WB about his wanting to return to the franchise, Cuaron responded: Quote:
I am very good friends with David Hayman, the producer, and I think that they know and I think everybody is waiting to see what J.K. Rowling does.

I think that would be really cool! PoA is my fav movie out of all of them so far. He's a great director!

Iam so sorry but i did not like the prisoner of azkaban I don't like his directing.He scratched out so much.
Chris Columbus should have done them all! But judging by the trailer David Yates looks better than Chris ill just have to see the movie.

people seem to forget that it is not the director's decision what to and what not to include in the film. that's the scrreenwriters' job.
in the directing department, though, i think he did an outstanding job, even f the script left so much of the book out

I really hope that he doesn't do another movie. I didn't like POA at all! I didn't like his style of directing a HP film, but I do love some of his other films. I just don't like POA.

I really do hope he does! I loved what he did in Prisoner of Azkaban, it was like the turn from childhood to teenagehood and he explored it so, so well. And if he does, I hope it's already for HBP. If he did so, he'd be able to direct my two favourite HP books, which would be amusing.
