[img]http://www.snitchseeker.com/images/news/alfonso_cuaron_80.jpg' align='middle'> Cuaron talks about POA DVD -

Summary:
In an issue of Fantasy World, Alfonso talks about the POA DVD

Article:

Thanks to TLC

Quote:
The August issue of Fantasy Worlds magazine has a 12 page feature on POA. One new topic covered in the inverview with Alfonso Cuaron is the subject of the POA DVD. Alfonso Cuaron says:

.."They've been working on the DVD ever since I began shooting this movie, so I hope there's some cool stuff in there," he says. "I have to confess that I've been so busy with post that I haven't really seen what's going to be included. But everybody has been sending me stuff, and I've told them, 'Oh yeah, that looks cool.' Everything is coming together beautifully.
There are going to be many cool games, but what I'm happy about-and I think this is a first for a Harry Potter DVD - is they're doing a bit on how the film was created. In the past, they were afraid if they showed that, the movies would loose their magic. I think audiences are now so sophisticated that some of them want to see how Harry Potter is created. So you'll see the genesis of the Dementors - from the early underwater puppet tests to the computer-generated [final design ]. I have to say, though, that I'm not crazy about directors commentating on their movies. Sometimes I listen to the commentary for great films that I love, and I almost get disappointed about the whole thing. "

It sounds cool. My guess is that it is going to come out in Late November-Early December to get some money b/c of the holiday season

i hope the same. i was a bit disappointed of the last two dvd's extras. i'd like to see more interviews, more behind the scenes, more extra-scenes and some outtakes!

I dont think it would spoil the magic for teen/adult fans, who might be (like me) enthralled by how the films are made. It may spoil it for the younger ones, some may actually believe in the magic, but we all know, from seeing parts of PoA, that Alfonso is definitely catering for the elder audience.

but it may even be a help for younger kids who get scared easily to see that the dementors aren't that scary. and knowing kids, even if they see some of those extras, the moment they see the movie they forget all about that and are just excited about the movie.

Very true.

I'm just glad to see the direction of the films changed. Somehow, PoA seems less patronising.

it is the first of the hp-movies i'm really excited about. i didn't like the first movie too much when i saw it the first time in cinema, but it kinda grew on me with the time. the second was already way better. but movie three... i think it's going to be fantastic. the promotion is great, the trailers are fantastic. but still i'll sit in the cinema and wish they didn't have voice-overs.. :cringes:
and to hear that the dvd will have better extras is just an extra-good bonus.

Wow, I am definitely buying this one.
The other two I bought them in Asia... and they were missing a few things
But this one I will definitely buy, and I don't think I'll ever be able to stop watching it.

Yep. And I can't wait for the extra scenes. (even though I haven't seen the actual movie yet...)
They're always my favourite ~_^
And I hope they have the interviews things like in the CoS DVD, I loved that so much, I can't tell you how many times I've watched it.
