| | | Cuarón to win HOLA award - PoA director Summary:
Alfonso Cuarón, the director of POA, will make a suprise appearance in New York to accet the HOLA Founders Ward. In addition, Theatrical Awards are also to be presented at the ceremony. Article:
Noted Mexican filmmaker Alfonso Cuarón will make a surprise appearance in New York on Sept. 20 to accept the Raúl Juliá HOLA Founders Award, presented by the Hispanic Organization of Latin Actors. In addition, the organization has announced the recipients of the fifth annual HOLA Awards, honoring outstanding achievement in Spanish-language theatre during the 2003-04 season.
Cuarón, director of "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban," has been working in Europe since the film's release earlier this year but will return to the United States to attend the HOLA gala, scheduled for 6:30 pm at the Players, 16 Gramercy Park South.
Cuarón began his career directing films and television in Mexico. In 1995, he released his first feature film produced in the United States, "A Little Princess," an adaptation of Frances Hodgson Burnett's classic novel. His next feature, also a literary adaptation, was "Great Expectations," starring Ethan Hawke, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Robert De Niro. He returned to Mexico to direct a Spanish-speaking cast in "Y Tu Mamá También," which scored international success, as has his "Harry Potter" film. Theatrical Award Winners List |

Well, that's a good thing to hear...POA was, without a doubt, the ebst of the HP Movies (in fact, just watched SS and found it mostly dull, and CoS got it halfway there...Mr.Cuaron, thankfully, brought it the rest of the way, and I hope that Mr.Columbus keeps on being a producer but never returns to the director's seat ever again...sorry. Not trying to be mean, here.) All I'm saying is that Mr.Cuaron has demonstrated to us that he's an excellent director (I hope to see some of his other work sometime), and I hope that he might return for either the HBP movie in the future or Movie Seven...he definitely deserves an award. Huzzah and so forth...

| If he has been in Europe since PoA came out then i think that he might be working maybe on another project or maybe he hasnt gone back to the US cause he doesnt like it there. Who knows. Maybe hes still got that Ian Brown music video in concideration!
