| | | Confirmation that the Quidditch Cup will be in GoF - from set/props news on GoF set Summary:
HPANA have kindly been able to confirm that the Quidditch World Cup Scenes will feature in the GoF Film. Article: Confirmation that the Quidditch Cup will be in GoF
Mr. Jonathan Tebbs, owner of A Barn full of Brass Beds in the UK has been left spellbound after his firm was chosen to restore nine beds at his workshops for Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Quote: He has also been working on a folding chair and will provide a unique iron to be used in a kitchen scene. Quote: A delighted Mr Tebbs said: "When they first contacted me, I thought it was a wind up. But these things don't happen very often.
"I was desperate to do it. It was the wackiness of it. I was on tenterhooks for a month until they ended up buying the beds." Quote: Set dressers for Warner Bros have paid precise attention to detail and want brass beds for the scenes. The Hogwarts gang visit Ron Weasley's parents and are camping in a tent. Although from the outside it is a small tent, once inside it opens up into a large dormitory with bunk beds and a double bed for the Weasleys. All the props will come from A Barn Full of Brass Beds. Quote: In previous Potter films, Julie Walters, who plays Ron Weasley's mother, has been seen to be in to "wacky old things".
So the brass beds fitted the bill for Warner Bros.
They have been supplied for the same price as if someone ordered one from his website and are about £300 for a single and £800 for a larger bed. Quote: And he told of the professionalism of Warner Bros.
He said: "The set dressers are interesting people, very down to earth. they think if a job is worth doing, it is worth doing well.
"Maybe they hope the attention to detail will rub off on the actors and if they are around interesting stuff it will help them perform better." Just to link the bits of information, the connection to the cup is that the camping in tents happens before the Quidditch World Cup match. The mention of Julie Walters aka Molly Weasley and the figure nine seems to suggest that she has been written into those scenes for the film version of GoF.

1 Molly and Arthur(acording to what they say there)
2 Harry
3 Hermione
4 Ron
5 Ginny
6 Fred
7 George
8 Percy
9 Bill
10 Charlie
I so want to meet Bill and Charlie!!!! (specially Bill...) Molly, if you remember stays home during the World Cup. Perhaps Ginny and Hermione share a bed since they have the smaller tent? Just a guess on my part.
Bill and Molly being there at the end when Harry performs the third task then later in the hospital wing is huge. She has to be in GoF. Her reaction to Sirius transfiguring back into a man and her assurance that Arthur will support Dumbledore quietly at the Ministry are important set ups for the OotP movie in my opinion.
Back to Hagrid's Hut I go...........

That's great! Without the Quidditch Cup, the movie would be missing a big part of the whole plot. Like for example, how Harry gets out of the Dursley's and how he gets to Ron's house. There would be lose ends all over the place. But I'm happy that they decided to put it in and I can't wait to see the Gof on the movie screen!

somehow i think theyre going to have to uncomplicate the plot - a lot - and the movies not going to be like the book. but oh well, im sure it will be fine! :sorcerer:
oOx. Jess yea i agree but i have a bad feeling about the 4th movie

I was so scared they weren't going to show the world cup. That's one of my favorite parts...
Thank God they are going to!

That'd suck if they cut out the world cup, tho I'd like to see how they're going to cram two major events into one movie. I really do think they should've split the movies in half, part 1 & 2, just cuz it's hard for little kids (& myself) to sit on their butts for a straight 4 hours. |
