| | | Coltrane unsure about his 'Potter' future Summary:
The Sunday Herald has posted an interview with Robbie Coltrane. Coltrane says the following about whether or not he will continue as Hagrid in the Harry Potter movies Article: The Sunday Herald has posted an interview with Robbie Coltrane. Coltrane says the following about whether or not he will continue as Hagrid in the Harry Potter movies: "I don't know. I really don't know what the circumstances will be for the last three. I don't know if I should be saying this, although if anyone has got any brains they'll have worked it out, but if Jo Rowling hasn't finished books six and seven within the next two years, the kids we've got at the moment will be too old to play the parts. And they may not even want to. So it depends on the variables. In some ways I would rather get on with something else, but I don't want to say that because it sounds so...ungrateful.
"So, no, I don't know if I'm going to do any more. They will, of course, to enchant me back, offer me frightening amounts of money."

but i cant imagine anyoine but Robbie being Hagrid. Me either, because he is an adult and doesn't have to worry being too old for his part (as long as he doesn't have grey hair! )

I'd sign up for all seven if i were them! i really hope everyone stays for ootp-it's my favorite book!!! i agree-- he cant leave!! but why might they not do OoTP? i thought if they did it they'd just get a new cast (although it wont be the same) ... yeah i'd rather skip school to film too lol. if they did all 7 movies they'd prolly be so rich they could afford like.. private school afterwards!

i couldnt imagine anyone else playing the parts, even though i havent agreed on some of the choices they made on the actors..im just used to them

| lOl Yeah, Dan and Rupert getting mustaches wouldn't work.
I'm blissfully in denial. As long as I don't accept the fact that the cast has a very serious chance of being completely-er-re cast, it just can't happen, right? Right?!
As for them not continuing the series at all-EEK! |

Well, I hope he stays....I'd like to see everybody stay, but I know that's not going to happen :/ . Darn.... You're so right! They definitely couldn't find an actor to play the role of Hagrid half as well... Robbie has made the role too much his own by now!
Who knows though... maybe we'll be lucky enough that the current actors will all be willing to do the next few film

well i read that JKR hand choose hagrid and snape as the people she wanted to play the characters, she didnt havethem come to interviews or try outs, they were the actors she wanted as them parts, so i guess she'll be a bitmiffed if he goes, but then she should hurry her self up and finish the books or we are going have a mix match caused, but it true what coltrane says, if she takes to long, then theactors may get offered something else or look TOO old, but then again, the boy who played Voldermort in COS he was like 21, so who knows!!!
good luck to robbie coltrane in whartever he does, i miss him not being on my British TV.

I hope he will keep playing him. It would be kinda hard to find a new Hagrid. But he does have a point, the kids are getting kinda old to keep doing it. Only time will tell.

I think Robbie Coltrane suits the part of Hagrid perfectly. He's such a brilliant actor-I really hope everything in the future works out ok for him to keep playing the part if his interest is still there. :sorcerer:
