Reports are emerging today that representatives for Ciaran Hinds (The Tale of Despereaux, There Will Be Blood, Calendar Girls) have 'expectations and hopes' that he will play Aberforth Dumbledore in Deathly Hallows. Warner Brothers have yet to comment on this casting. Jim McManus previously played the role in Order of the Phoenix. Photos of Ciaran can be seen here.

Also, we told you last month that Nick Moran had been cast as a 'villain'. Word has it that he will be playing Scabior.

Same as everyone else, pretty much -- he'll probably be what I imagined as Abertforth with the beard and stuff on.

He looks similar to how I pictured Aberforth but not exactly. Maybe he will look better with the beard on?

He looks good for the role. Aberforth is a really big and (I think) emotional part that should be played by a competent actor. He looks up to the job.
