| | |  Ciarán Hinds cast in The Woman in Black, Dan Radcliffe talks on-screen son
Daniel Radcliffe's Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows costar Ciarán Hinds (Aberforth Dumbledore) has been cast in his upcoming supernatural thriller, The Woman in Black, where he will play an elderly local named Daily who befriends Dan's character Arthur Kipps in his search to find out the truth about a resident who recently died. Actress Janet McTeer will play Ciarán's on-screen wife.
Dan also spoke to Total Film magazine recently about auditions taking place for his on-screen son, Edward, in The Woman in Black. Quote:
“We were doing auditions for my son yesterday which was bizarre,” the actor exclusively tells Total Film. “But it’s very exciting and James Watkins is fantastic. He might kill me for telling you this, but he’s actually started working with an acting coach to give him a better idea of how to approach stuff with actors.
“Which is a brilliant thing – I don’t know of any other directors doing that. He’s inspired and we’re uncannily on the same page about the film. We met and we agreed that this film is not a scary movie but a film about loss and family and grief.”

Gosh, the Potter franchise is so big that any British actor the main Potter stars work with all seem to have been in the Harry Potter films at one point or another. Like Rupert in Driving Lessons with Julie Walters, Emma and Dan in Ballet Shoes and Equus with Richard Griffiths, and Dan's first role in David Copperfield with a ton of them. Potter has seriously taken over the industry. 
It's still to early for me to see Dan as a Dad after being a teen for so long in HP but I suppose with time I'll be able to see it properly. I am excited to see this project on screen though.
