Article:

Chris Rankin perfecting Welsh accent for a play

Chris Rankin aka Percy Weasley in the Harry Potter films has updated his online blog. He discusses various projects on the horizon but doesn't mention anything about filming for Goblet of Fire.

Quote:
Got plenty of things on the horizon - sadly most of which alot of people won't get to see...
At the end of September i'm performing in a dramatised reading of Dylan Thomas' "Under Milk Wood" at the Maddermarket theatre in Norwich.... should be good - although i'll have to perfect my Welsh accent!!!

Then there's an appearance at the Great Yarmouth Film Festival (i'm not kidding - they actually have one!!) with Stephen Fry (reader of the HP audio books) and then a few bits and bobs....
When he mentioned 'Welsh' I couldn't help but get excited, I'd love to see what kind of an actor he is on stage, but it doesn't seem like he'll be actually performing in Wales.

Welsh accent! Are all actors multi-talented. I cant imitate any accents apart from my own which is Irish and even that sounds a bit crap compared to all those around me. I feel like a nobody!

I think accents are a part of the job. I think the one he is referring to is the valley. That's really distinct in it's tones. My one is Cardiffian Welsh and isn't very noticable at all. The valley accent is a lovely one to perform in.
