The ' Philosopher's Stone' and ' Chamber of Secrets' director, Chris Columbus, has been quoted in an article for The Scotsman which deals with the family and money pressures which child celebrities can sometimes suffer with.
What Chris says about Dan Radcliffe shows how supportive parents and a sensible attitude toward money can help avoid any conflicts in the life of a teen star.
"I wanted to make sure the parents were okay," Chris said of his involvement in the Potter films. "In the case of Daniel Radcliffe, who played the lead, you couldn’t find two more supportive parents. My biggest question was, if the kid says, ‘I want to stop!’, will you let them stop? Macaulay Culkin was in a situation where they kept putting him in movie after movie. I was never sure he wanted to make films - to him, it seemed like a job."
The article also compares the sensible views on money that Dan Radcliffe and Charlotte Church share.
"I don’t know how much money I have, and I don’t need to know because I’m only a kid." said Dan.

I think that it is awesome that Dan's parents are so supportive, I'm also glad that he loves what he does and doesn't do it for the money. That's a sign that he might continue acting even after the HP movie, and that would be a dream come true for me. | |

*is not a fan of columbus* but i will say this for him and all the production Staff on the Hp Films they have taken great steps to protect the three main children on the films and Dan is right he disent need his money now and it is better for his safty that he nor anyone other than his aprents know how much money he has. | |

Good for Dan. Money isn't everything and a lot of child actors end up down and out because they have pushy parents. It becomes such a tragedy for them that way... The kid who played Denis the Menace had that same problem... Quote: |

| Depends. There are plenty of people in their late twenties and early thirties playing parts of teenagers and you wouldn't even know it. You can spot this in the early days of Buffy... you wouldn't have guessed some of the ages of these people. I think Rupert could have a chance. Virgos aren't typical to show their age. lol I'm going on 25 and people think I look 15.

Wow! that's a great thing to say and I totally agree with dan that we shouldn't be thinking about money because we're just kids. Don't let Dan stop HP! I will cry my eyes out if he quits. Don't let him stop!   He can't stop. Anyway that was a nice thing to say that he doesn't want to know how much money he has. I wouldn't want to know either. He is so cute! He even says cute things. you know the way he says thank you after the Fat Lady lets the Gryffindors in after she tried to break the glass with her voice.  Sorry I went off on how cute Dan is but you have to agree. HE IS HOT!
