[img]http://www.snitchseeker.com/images/news/blotts_80.jpg' align='middle'> "Cadogan" Origins -

Summary:
In my mailbox today was an interesting email from "A Word A Day" - today's word is "cadogan."

cadogan (kuh-DUG-uhn) noun
A lidless teapot, inspired by Chinese wine pots, that is filled from the bottom.

[After William Cadogan, 1st Earl of Cadogan (1675-1726), who was said to be the first Englishman to own such a pot.]

In other words, Sir Cadogan has little or nothing in his head. You can also see pictures of cadogans here. To sign up for "A Word A Day" (which is almost always my favorite email of the day), click here.

Yeah, he's that really crazy knight whose portrait is located in the north tower on the way to Divination. I thought he was hilarious, falling off his pony, getting his sword stuck in the ground when he used it to get up.

You scurvy knaves

Jk's brilliant, i mean there must be so many more names which have hidden meanings and we fans know them after so long!

I think maybe you would use the spout to fill it. That's the only place it has a hole, unless there's one on the bottom. Could they have been used just for decoration?

An empty teapot certainly describes Sir Cadogan. Not only is he daft, but he's also rather "short and stout" isn't he?
