It isn't exactly a "come one, come all" kind of thing. You can't really buy a part, you can buy a raffle ticket or whatever for the auction and win a part. And besides that, not just anyone can buy the ticket, but you have to be invited to this shin-dig. It's a nice idea, but if she wants to raise money and REALLY open up GOF extra parts, there might be a more fair minded way.
I guess it's the thought that counts.

Hey well i have the address to the casting studio , and i no for a fact that htey are looking for extra`s in the 4th movie but nothing will be promised. well, i think the idea is nice, but i dunno.... creating new roles that aren't even in the book? there are other ways to raise money.
but maybe i'm just jealous because i don't live in the uk and i'm far too old to be an extra, at least as a student.

I live in Wales so if the auditions are in the uk -grins- yay maybe i can get a part? -dreams- and im a reasonable age (16)

I think this is NOT! a very fair thing at all! :angry:  As supposedly She (rowling) thinks only the Rich and famous like Harrry potter films/books! AS not only are they not welcoming to actors outside of th UK but now she only wants the rich in the UK! whaT is this world coming to...AS i can say i dont have enough money to give to a "donation" let alone buy a role in the movie!
If this is true or not I say somone needs to come down from pedestal ( casting people) close the meat market ( they way they always treat extras) and open the films to the real people that count! THe Fans!!
We care enough about the movies that we: 1. know whats going on in the story/scene. 2. would be happy enough to do mostly anything 3. wouldnt have to act like we love a quidditch world cup!

I wanna try.. I'm gonna ask my mum and dad if I can, and I suppose they'll say OH, YES DEAR, OF COURSE, but it is possible no one'll be able to get in fairly.. just a quick thought... which isnt so quick for your or my desire, but hey, its like that.
oh yeah, and maybe she can have auditions, where you dont buy into.. you get there on pure acting talent (which I got) and be seen by JK and get graded and stuff. I suppose thats the smart way to do it and mre fair way to handle this sort of things, but I guess JK wants enough money to get a load of ink, or pencils, or whatever to write with, cuz of her writing the HP series andstuff.
Right now, you relize how right I am, because that is basically the only fair thing. You know, maybe not have to pay to get into a movie... that'd be great.... not saying I think life should be perfect, but I'm sayin' that there is nothing fair in this world... I love HP;but spending money to get into a movie that JK will get double of, not worth it.... to me.... I love this subject, but I gotta read some Fan Fictions, which you know are mostly DA BOMB!!! buh bye!!!

i think it's good why she is doing the buy your roles thing but how do we know if it'll make the movie better so i guess we will just have to wait and see the movie sad huh? too bad we can't just zip into the future and see that movie

It's a good idea to raise money this way, But creating parts, i'm not too sure about that. I guess they could just be like people at the quidditch match, or other campers. I wouldn't mind getting a part, but being at an antipode (heehee i love that word!) i probably can't get a role by any chance, unless i'm one of those 'discovered' stories... Ohh well., one can dream i suppose! | |

I dont' think its a good idea to have a bid because then someone who doesn't even like harry potter but just wants to be in a movie could be in it..REAL fans wouldn't stand a chance againt someone with mountains of cash.... it makes me angry.. i bet a bunch of you are thinking well someone who doesn't like hp wouldn't go but i think soem people would do anything for a bit of fame...... give me feedback people lol
