| | | Bridge & clock to be removed from King's Cross station
A 100-year-old clock, along with the bridge that is famous as Harry Potter's entrance to the imaginary platform nine and three quarters, at King's Cross Station in London, England, are set to be knocked down as a part of major expansion plans.
Protesters have started gathering to campaign against the destruction, and Ptolemy Dean, an architect and TV presenter, had the following to say: Quote:
"King's Cross will lose its rather beautiful and lovely structure which characterises it's views. It's a gateway to the north really and one feels very sad that it's going."
Thanks to SSer Steelsheen for the tip! |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Eleanor Skeffington Second Year | Why do people insist on ruining things that are old and historical? It's really sad and unnecessary. And the fact that it's the oldest working clock in the UK..COME ON!! How can you get rid of that without feeling like you're doing something wrong?? |

Cole Finnegan Parker Daily Prophet | Mrs. Macmillan SS Featured Author I hope that they don't remove the bridge and clock from the station. It's a historical landmark and, even bette, a great place for Potter fans to visit. If they really want to take it down, they should wait after they've completed filming all the Potter movies. |

| Marine Wife! Are the landmark laws in the UK the same as in America? here if it is declared a landmark, it is untouchable... and with all the HP exposure and following, then there wouldn't be a problem declaring it a landmark.... don't know how it works over there... |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Gwenavere First Year | I think that they shoudn't do construction of the station until after all of the HP films are done being filmed...if they take it out beforehand and it's supposed to be in the film...how will they do it again to make it look the same way, I mean I know that they can built a replica, but it's still just not the same... |
