| | | Brendan Gleeson talks Mad-Eye Moody
Daily Breeze has some new quotes from Brendan Gleeson in regards to Mad-Eye Moody, the character he portrays in ' Goblet of Fire'. Quote:
"I had a different, but similar notion," Gleeson continued. "I saw Moody as 'a man of the roads,' a guy who's been wandering in the wilderness, leading a semi-reclusive existence -- an ex-gunslinger who'd never made peace with the world, slightly mad, slightly paranoid, a man well past his sell-by date."
Quote:
"I discovered that there's a lot going on with 'Mad-Eye,'" Gleeson observed. "As with several other characters in the books, he's a possible surrogate father for Harry. He's a man who appears to be taking care of him and looking out for his best interest."
Quote:
As filming commenced, Gleeson said, he soon found that going way over the top was the only way to play "Mad-Eye."
"In general," he said, with a comical giggle, "I would start with what I thought was an extreme take on the character. And then Mike would entice me to go even further. There are subtleties. But it soon became clear that the execution had to be larger than life. There was great liberation in that. Besides, the guy's mad as a hatter, anyway."

ooo, cant wait to see him on Thursday. It sounds like he portrayed Moody very well. unlike Michael Gambon ... sorry it's just I dont think he does a good job as Dumbledore.

I thought he was kinda lousy. i didn't picture his voice that way. sounded a bit like tigger on drugs when he was angry! I also pictured him gaunt and deadlooking. Not tubby. other than that i give him 6/10.

Nice interview. I think Brendan Gleeson portrayed Mad-Eye Moody very well. He was moody and he certainly had the eye. Plus he added the craziness and fun to GoF.

Kool! Yeah I thought Mad-Eye was a bit paranoid too! But he was still so funny! Did anybody notice that he was wearing a kilt with a ferret on it at the Yule Ball?
