| | |  Borders & Waldenbooks to host Grand Hallows Ball
Borders and Waldenbooks are to host free Grand Hallows Balls on the night of July 20th to celebrate the release of Deathly Hallows.
Special invitations will be given to customers who belong to the Borders Rewards(R) scheme, however everyone is welcome to attend these events, whether they be dressed up or in muggle gear. Quote:
Beginning at 9:30 p.m., the "Grand Hallows Ball" events will transport guests from their ordinary muggle world into an evening of enchanting music, imaginative costumes, fun activities, and fabulous prizes. Harry Potter fans will leave the Ball with original souvenirs commemorating this special evening.
Each store will feature "exclusively- designed decor" and will be hosted by "a headmistress or headmaster of ceremonies".
Activities scheduled include;
- The Potter spelling bee
- The Great Snape Debate
- The crowning of a king and queen of the Ball
Prizes will be available, including the coveted position of first place in line for the book at the stroke of midnight. Quote:
"Borders is devoted to creating a midnight event that would commemorate this historic publication for both its stores and customers," said Linda Jones, senior vice president, merchandising for Borders Group, Inc. "The Grand Hallows Ball will be the quintessential celebration for Harry Potter fans."

Awesome! I'm super excited! Sadly, I'm not planning on getting my book at Borders...though there is one very near to me. I'm planning on being the first in line for the book no matter what, so I'm not going to take any chances. Plus, everytime I go to one of these HP parties, they always favor the little kiddies, and that's just not fair. -huff-  | |
