| | |  Bookies set odds for Harry Potter 8
British bookies are taking bets that J.K. Rowling will write an eighth Harry Potter novel by 2012. Ladbrokes, the largest betting company in the U.K., is offering odds of 2:1 that J.K. Rowling will write another novel (not an encyclopedia) with the words "Harry Potter" in the title within the next four years. It’s also offering 1:3 odds on there never being another Harry Potter novel.
According to a spokesperson for Ladbrokes: Quote:
We thought we'd seen the last of the boy wizard. But some punters appear to think otherwise. In the days after the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows our customers seemed quite optimistic that he'd be back. But it all went quiet and we closed the book. However, interest in the market has been revived.
Hmmm, 2:1 odds? I’d take that bet. How about you? | |

funny how bookies think. you'd think that in their biz, the most logical and surefire bet is that the Encyclopedia will be the book to watch out for by 2012.
i'm still a little skeptical about an 8th HP book, but yeah there could be an HP book that will come out in the next few years, and i'm thinking it will be the Encyclopedia. after all that will surely have the words "Harry Potter" on it.

Well we know she's making an encyclopedia. But Jo said that won't be out for a few years.
And in the whole Lexicon lawsuit, didn't Jo say she was making another "novel"? She didn't specify, but that might be another HP book. But she also said that she temporarily stopped writing because of the lawsuit.

I would LOVE a new Harry Potter book, maybe to explain some of the mysteries (ie who was Draco's wife)  and also to left off where she finished.
But I highly doubt there will be harry potter 8. she intended 7 books (the magical number and everything) from the beginning.
