| | | Book 6 going slow for JKR Summary:
MuggleNet reader 'Corvus Ravenclaw' sent a letter to JK Rowling a while ago and recently received this reply: Article: Book 6 going slow for JKR
Mugglenet reader 'Corvus Ravenclaw' wrote to JKR a while ago and received this reply, Quote: | "I have started the sixth book (the title is still undecided), but I must admit I an writing quite slowly at the moment. I feel oddly as though I have been transported back in time - it is just like writing "Philosopher's Stone', when my daughter Jessica was very young, except that these days I also have thousands of letters to answer! If the wait seems too long you can always re-read "Order of the Phoenix" and search it for clues about what's going to happen next (there are a few!)" | This does sound much like JK's writing style in letters but the site has no way of verifying the authenticity of it, and so wishes to hear from any other fans who received letters similar to this one.
Source: http://www.mugglenet.com/ UPDATE: Read this post to see scans of the letter. (It's not exactly recent.) |

| | | I absolutely can't wait for book 6 to come out! I thought that I had heard some where that she was nearly finished with it and the rough draft would soon be going to her editors... but I don't know how long it takes to go from editors to finish. Not too long I hope!! | |

Ack, I was really bummed when I read that on mugglenet. Ah well, your right phoenix_grl, we do have the movie to look foward too.
But since the 5th book took three years, naturally I suspected the 6th to be the same. So it isn't too much of a letdown. Seriously, these waits make me a bit tensed though. I think I might run around in circles screaming when the 6th book comes out. Too much happiness for me to handle. |

| She didn't take three years to write OotP. She wrote the first four in a row and was totally exhausted. She took a deserved break and got her life back together.
I can imagine how hard it is for her, despite all the money . I mean she has sooo much pressure on her, which i 'm sure she will still amaze, but she also has so much to do and demand on her to do things for her fans, etc.
I think that while I will be in agony waiting, that i can wait. I'd rather that then a rushed version with not her usual dedication, just because she wanted to please us. It is a long time, but i think the 'writer's block' thing which everyone kept using to explain why ootp took so long, was not true. She was just getting her life back together and as a new mother i can imagine how hard it must be just to deal with the baby, let alone write a book that is in so much demand it is unbelievable. |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Marcella Riddle Graduated | It is baby David and heis now a year old.
I think people are being way too harsh on her, she does have a life beyond HP. Which does include 2 kids and a husband and she wants to make time for them which is totally natural. It's selfish to tell her to 'hurry up' even if it is meant in the most innocent sense possible, because if she felt she were under pressure it may have an affect on her work or on her self-esteem.
I vote to just be patient and sit tight. |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Morbidda Lucretia Morwenna Sabine Valencia DeValdemar LeDeaux T'Humperdink. First | Book 6 going slow for JKR?
That means about five years...at least I'll have time to save up for it.
And Marcella Riddle is right, she DOES have a life outside HP (hard to believe) and she can't devote all her time to writing about an adolescent wizard. |

| I think Summer 2005 would be good, I've said this before I know, but I would rather her take her time and produce a masterpiece than start wavering and publish something that leaves our prolonged anticipation tarnished and disappointed! |

I do have one suggestion for an actor for the role of Mad-eye Moody. I saw a movie poster for Hidalgo, and Vigo Mortenson looks pretty similar to the image I have in my head of Moody. (I'm probably going to be hung by my toes for this, but oh well.) Also, if anyone needs another book to fill the time between now and the next book, or the next movie, Michael Paolini's "Eragon" is really good. (probably get strung up for that one, to[font=Geneva][color=blue]o....git) |
