Book 6 going slow for JKR

Summary:
MuggleNet reader 'Corvus Ravenclaw' sent a letter to JK Rowling a while ago and recently received this reply:

Article:

Book 6 going slow for JKR

Mugglenet reader 'Corvus Ravenclaw' wrote to JKR a while ago and received this reply,

Quote:
"I have started the sixth book (the title is still undecided), but I must admit I an writing quite slowly at the moment. I feel oddly as though I have been transported back in time - it is just like writing "Philosopher's Stone', when my daughter Jessica was very young, except that these days I also have thousands of letters to answer! If the wait seems too long you can always re-read "Order of the Phoenix" and search it for clues about what's going to happen next (there are a few!)"
This does sound much like JK's writing style in letters but the site has no way of verifying the authenticity of it, and so wishes to hear from any other fans who received letters similar to this one.

Source: http://www.mugglenet.com/

UPDATE: Read this post to see scans of the letter. (It's not exactly recent.)

Well I guess that's no big surprise.

I only hope she is able to finish it soon. I am still hoping for a pre-Christmas release, though I am not betting on it.

My guess at this point would be about this time next year (March 2005).

Pre-Christmas? There was me thinking I had high hopes, hoping for a Christmas Release!

But I agree, the earliest will probably be Easter/Summer 2005, unfortunately, although GoF is due out Summer 2005, so it'd be interesting to see how they fit the two events in. For sure it would be a great treat to have both releases in the same year.

If you're on about the length of the book Karen, which I think you are, then I dont think book 6 will be smaller than OoP. She said that OoP would be smaller then GoF when she first started writing it and look what happened there! I think she gets carried away with her writing and as the series is progressed, she'll want even less to let go of Harry and so the books will be longer. Or maybe that's just me hoping highly again

I thought GoF was due out late next year. Like Novemeber/December.

I dont think a date has been announced for definite, but either way, it may be that both a book and film get released in one year, which would be rather exciting.

Yeah, but I'm not that patient! It would make it a LOT better if they had a book out and then a movie. Then we wont have to wait so long!

Ah well, there's always wishful thinking. I shall go back and tell myself that quality is the most important thing...but I am so impatient! But I shall try to control myself...

If you remember, she wrote the first 4 like straight after each other. then she needed a break so took a massive one between the fourth and fifth one. She definatley wasn't writing that whole time. So the gap won't be as long.

I dunno guys.. I think that late next year is more likely. 2005... with all the publisher, editing etc.

I can't wait ontil the next book is finish. The only clue I find out (and I'm not cher if it's one  ) is in the end of the book(5),when there in the hospital wing it says that when Harry looked at Ginny, Ginny was looking at him to but when she realised he was looking at him turned around right away.

well I'm not sher what that meen's but I hope they fall in love one day.
