| | |  Bonnie Wright to star in A Great and Terrible Beauty?
During last night's Nickelodeon Kids' Choice awards UK, actress Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley) was overheard talking about a movie project she was interested in getting involved with: playing the lead character Gemma Doyle in a film adaptation of Libba Bray's novel A Great and Terrible Beauty. A synopsis of the book can be found here. Quote:
It's 1895, and after the death of her mother, 16-year-old Gemma Doyle is shipped off from the life she knows in India to Spence, a proper boarding school in England. Lonely, guilt-ridden, and prone to visions of the future that have an uncomfortable habit of coming true, Gemma's reception there is a chilly one. To make things worse, she's being followed by a mysterious young Indian man, a man sent to watch her. But why? What is her destiny? And what will her entanglement with Spence's most powerful girls - and their foray into the spiritual world - lead to?
At the moment there is no confirming information about Bonnie's casting in the movie and this should therefore be considered a rumour, but we will update when more is revealed about the production.  | |

Meh, I hope not. I read all those books and I love them so. I think Bonnie would be too plain and boyish looking for the role, in my eyes. I'd rather see somebody else get the part. I don't think she could pull the role off. And I know in the books it said that Gemma wasn't exactly the prettiest girl, but I just don't see Bonnie playing her. But thats just my opinion.

Oh I love that trilogy, a bit creepy but they're awesome. If she does get the part, wouldnt it be funny that it has to do with magic too  ...When I was reading the book I didn't really imagine her playing the part but ok

This plot reminds me of the movie A Little Princess directed by Alfonso Cuaron. It's not the same but some things are alike.
