| | | Bloomsbury & Firecrabs
The ' Half-Blood Prince' Bloomsbury Countdown Calendar has been updated with some information on firecrabs.
The information pops up if you click on April 7th. Quote:
Firecrab
Despite its name, the firecrab greatly resembles a large tortoise with a heavily jewelled shell. In its native Fiji, a stretch of land has been turned into a reservation for its protection, not only against Muggles, who might be tempted by its valuable shell, but also against unscrupulous wizards who use the shells as highly prized cauldrons.
The pop-up, if clicked on, will take you to a Bloomsbury shop where you can purchase, 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to find them', a miniature book written by Rowling, the profits from which go straight to Comic Relief.

Yeah... those are cute. Harry and Ron and Hermione "wrote" on the book. They were making stupid comments on some of the creatures...

Yes, I have that book. And I enjoyed the book, as well as the comments Harry, Ron and Hermione entered. I actually looked at the book a few days ago and I remember the Fire Crab definition. The first part of it, any way... Despite its name, the firecrab greatly resembles a large tortoise with a heavily jewelled shell.

Very cool! I have the book, I love Ron and Hermione's arguement in the beginning! I'm so excited for the book, my sister thinks I'm mad because I have the days counting down on my calender; she also thinks I'm insane for having read the books over a dozen times each and for coming on here. I'm misunderstood, lol. That's why I'm on here...

I saw fires crabs as well, on the Sorceror's Stone game PC version. They're in pre-Hagrid and Hagrid's quests. Hey, they looked pretty cool, though I hate it when try to aim flamethrowers at you whenever you get near them.

| This just shows how creative JKR really is...I mean...how many of us would have thought of such creatures even in our wildest dreams?? To JKR: Can I borrow a piece of your brain? It could work wonders for me?
