Default Bits of a Swedish OotP book washed up on Thai beach

The Swedish Rowling Fan Club reports that a Swedish newspaper, Aftonbladet today writes that they have found pages from the Swedish version of OotP (Harry Potter och Fenixorden) in the ruins after the tsunami struck a hotel in Khao Lak in Thailand.

The article reads:

Quote:
"En bit från en sandig, tom ryggsäck ligger de ihopskrynklade
sidorna 895, 896, 897 och 898 i en Harry Potter-bok på svenska.

Harry, Ron, Hermione och Sirius Black är i full kamp mot Lord
Voldemort."
It translates as:

Quote:
"In a distance af a sandy rucksack lies the torn out pages 895, 896, 897 and 898 from a swedish Harry Potter book.

Harry, Ron, Hermione and Sirius Black are in a fight with Voldemort."
Source: The Leaky Cauldron.

It's a little trivial, though, printing that in a newpaper. There's a girl missing who lives about 20 miles away from me - she was in Calcutta at the time and there's still no word. I'd rather know what happened there.

this is really sad ... but just think about the person who owned the book. i heard that in sweden around a thousand people are missing. this whole disaster is just unbelievable.

I was amazed at how much death and destruction ensued because of this tsunami... My prayers will always go out to those people who are suffering in South Asia and Africa. I am most thankful that the tsunami didn't hit Karachi, Pakistan, because that is where most of my family is.

I think the Swedish newspaper did print that very trivially, but, if you think about it; that really puts things in perspective. Someone, somewhere was reading the same book that I was reading. That person, Goodness forbid!, if they have been killed, will never finish that book. It makes the Tsunami that much more poignant, someone I am connected to, in even the smallest way, was affected. I may not know them, but they are a Harry Potter fan just like myself. That is very devastating!

*checks map* Since the earthquake was hit in southeast Indian ocean and the tsunami originated from where earthquake hit, it is least likely the tsunami has hit Pakistan. As a matter of fact, the Pakistanian coast faces west as more than half of India, its neighbor, is stuck out into the ocean, acting like a barrier to slow or stop the tsunami from reaching Pakistan. Since much of the tsunami went west, I don't have worry about the tsunami hitting my mom's home country, Taiwan...no news from it is good news, otherwise, my mom would have be in much dispair.

Wow, I mean look at us! People from all over the world coming together to talk about this. Everyone a different age and different life styles. It's amazing how the human race is looking out for one another. Whatever religion you have and whatever type of god you worship... keep thinking of all the people in Asia. And for those of you who live there and had to go through this, or knew someone who had to go through this... i will be thinking of you, and hope that everything turns out OK.
