Autumn Norris probably not being considered for Cho Chang
News tips poured in yesterday from readers who heard through the internet grapevine that 12 year old American actress Autumn Norris is close to being picked to play Cho Chang in the Goblet of Fire movie.
It turns out the info going around the net is that this girl is an American living in Florida, and is not Asian at all. A web site offering her picture went down yesterday due to excessive requests, but someone emailed it to us: http://www.wizardnews.com/story.20030806.html there is a picture of Miss Norris (which actually just looks like one of those webcams)
As you can clearly see, she is not Asian. People who have heard the rumors say they heard that the producers are now willing to cast Cho as a non-Asian because they couldn't find any Asian actresses who spoke English well enough. We find it hard to believe that's true, and we find it hard to believe a non-Asian girl would be considered for the part of Cho Chang.
While this is not technically news, it's important that another Cho rumor not start up again, especially with all the hype about kristen kreuk, the canadian.  | |

Yeah if they decided to cast a non-asian for the part of cho id be so freakin mad... im chinese, 14 and love acting! they cant cast a non-asian for an asian part... it just doesnt work that way. |

Well.. the new "rumor" is that this girl started the Cho rumor about herself, and as you can see, that pic is a web cam pic. Anyone could've done it. This girl just wanted everyone to think she was important

K, well, that gurl is DEFINATELY NOT ASIAN! She looks older than 12! I don't think she will b cast as Cho, becuz JK said that she only wants british actors 2 play the characters, plus if u haven't noticed Cho doesn't play a big role in the 3rd movie maybe they will take her out and shell show up in the 4th or sumthing. Another reason y she will not b cast as Cho iz that they are well into the 3rd movie most of the actors have been annouced, and they r soon 2 b done filming, y would they STILL b looking 4 Cho? just a thought...no 1 has 2 agree

lol! the first time i saw that picture i thought it was britney spears. i saw in this other Cho Chang site that she was sposed to be tom's ex-girlfriend or something. *crosses fingers* hope she wasn't  and she is DEFINITELY not 12. She looks so old. i can't believe that they can't find someone that's asian that can speak english well enough.

they should have her in the movie!
and it is true that they are casting for uk people!
every internet has a thing were you have to mail in your pic and andd info..but only if you live in uk..and they said no acceptions!if thye keep on changeing the movie and what jk rowling has describe in her books..they are going to screw this movie!

isnt she supposed to have dark hair. That better not be Cho. I mean i look more llike Cho than her, and im 13(and i dont look like her). I think a Asian girl should play, and i heard that no Americans were supposed to play in th HP films.

Okay listen up! how stupid and yet ironically politically correct would it be for a non asian to be named Cho Chang in the first place. Second, there are plenty of asian actresses who can speak perfect english. Third it wouldnt be an American anyway because they are not accepting ammericans to be in the films only english actors unless they atre really dewsperate or the part xcalls for an american accent which Cho Chang's doesnt
