| | | Barnes & Noble to host midnight HBP parties
Barnes and & Noble have announced that they will host special midnight release parties and in store events as they did for previous Potter book releases, on July the 15th 2005 in preparation for the release of the book at 00:01am on July the 16th. Quote:
As with previous Harry Potter releases, Barnes & Noble stores nationwide will host events celebrating the publication the night before on July 15th, remaining open until 12:01 when the book officially goes on sale.
"Sales from the last Harry Potter book grossed as much as a major Hollywood movie in its first week of release" said Steve Riggio, chief executive officer of Barnes & Noble. "We expect this next book in the series to make publishing history once again. We've already collected 500,000 e-mail requests from our customers waiting to be notified of the date of the next book so this announcement is very welcome news for readers everywhere.

I went last time even though I had already ordered the book online. So I'm going this time too. It was packed and I was real surprised to see a lot of kids from my school there. Of course I knew them all.

I'm going to Barnes&Noble Monday to reserve my book!! I'm so excited! I dunno if I'm going to go to the party because last year we went to the store at around noon the day it came out, and the manager said there was about 1000 people there! I dunno if I can handle that many people, but if my friends want to go-I'll probably go for fun!
Also, because the book is $30, last time when I reserved it, I got $10 off. So it's best to do so!

It's always a good thing for a book to be released during the holidays. Last time my mom said no when I wanted to go and buy on a releasing HP book day, it was in July. And that day, was a summer school night. That really stunk. Then I bought a pre-ordering certificate from a book fair when the next book was due out in June this time, so there was no stopping me then (except that my younger sister refused to give it back to me when I let her see it and my mom ordered me to go to sleep as it was past midnight )!
Now, I'm not so sure ...I might be visiting my mom's home country then, since no one is going to summer school (and I graduated by then too), finally.
