The back cover artwork for the Deluxe Edition of HBP has been released by Scholastic. It depicts the figure of a man approaching a building in the woods.

A press release can be read here. Quote:

Why would a knife be stuck to the tree above Harry's head?  And could it be that the Forbidden Forest has another reason other than the dangerous creatures to be forbidden?

It seems that dumbledore is looking at the knife in the tree. Iwonder if it is there as a warning. As for the person with a hat, it may not be a man. But who ever it is has a cane/walking stick. Did the quote from a while back about the lion like person give a sence of hight? I just remember the limp. And the house, the door looks to have a snake on it. A death eather meeting place maybe? And throught the window you can see that a person is already inside.

Who's the man leading Harry and Dumbledore? Could he be the Half Blood Prince? Could that building be Spinner's End? I'm pretty sure Spinner's End is a place, so it could be possible. I just wish we knew more about the book.

I've suggested that before. Although the creatures are dangerous, the students have entered there under staff supervision before so there must be something else there that's forbidden.

I love Mary's art. It's so beautiful.
The forbidden forest and Hogwarts surrounding land is always a mystery. This house could be anything. But don't you think that maybe this house might not even be in the forbidden forest?
The snake on the door is a definite clue. I believe it could possibly be the Riddle House or even the house Voldemort resides in now. Voldemort has a snake and a snake is the symbol which represents Salazar Slytherin. It's the most obvious answer to this house.

This is so cool. I think you can tell better what the characters are doing.
It does appear more that Dumbledore is looking at the knife, but you get the distinct feeling that they're following that person, so I don't know if he is. And this time we can be certain it is a knife.
You can tell now that those are definitely oddly broken branches. Even though it appears they're going towards a house, I'm not really sure that's a fence because of how they're broken.
The guy looks very short and plump. I don't think it's Lucious. I thought maybe Moody, but then I wondered why they would appear to be following him. Unelss they're *not* and it just looks like that.
