That is soo weird, because here in the US PoA dropped down to #6, and The Notebook beat it in sales already! That' not fair! They are just now showing Mean Girls and the Ladykillers in Britain? Maybe that's why PoA is still #1 in the UK. :sorcerer:

It's more likely because it's more popular over here. Surprisingly, I dont think it's taken that well in America. The films I mean. CoS was known for not doing as well as PS which is why WB did at one stage consider dropping the franchise. But Alfonso saved it.

I mean, in America you have all these huge Hollywood films for it to contend with, but things like Mean Girls dont do that well over here because they're considered chick flicks and as there's a smaller population, not many go see them. Whereas they overly support HP because it's now a part of our heritage.

I think, in my opinion, Shrek seems to have stopped being a child's thing, what with all the sly adult jokes in there. Those types of innuendos spoil a good film.

that's great about it being #1 in the UK!! i wish it did better over here in America--ugh!! Harry Potter will always be #1 in my heart and go to see it as much as I can-but I'm only one person. it stinks that America doesn't like it as much-that really annoys me-come one Americans, why aren't you going to see POA!! it's sooo much better than Spider Man-ugh i hate spider man!! and all those other dumb movies!! nothing beats Harry Potter!!!! that's why sometimes America bugs me--they don't like Harry Potter enough! i'm very dissapointed in my country's entertainment pleasures!!

anyway good for POA in the UK--sometimes i think i was born in the wrong country! i hope it stays at #1 over there!
