| | | Azkaban film was 'boring' - CBBC Press Packer reports Summary:
One fan has found the film PoA boring and reckons Lupin was geeky in the film! Article: Azkaban film was 'boring' CBBC Press Packer Katy, 14, from London, thought the film 'Prisoner of Azkaban' was boring. Amongst other things, she claims Lupin was geeky. I was under the impression that Lupin was in fact the intelligent one of the marauders, but he certainly was not geeky, just being a teacher!
Here is some of what she thought. Read the rest of it here. Quote: I imagined Lupin to be a cool guy and quite funny but his character was really geeky in the film.* Quote: Too much time was spent concentrating on Hermione and not Harry Potter.* Quote: The only way Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is linked to the book is via the names of the characters.* Source: CBBC Newsround
I found it anything but boring. It was exciting the see the proper scenery. I also thought Sirius and Lupin were exactly in character, as I had imagined. I do agree on the Hermione comment though, I did feel she seemed to be focused more on than Harry, especially when she claims she trusted Lupin - it would have made more sense to have Harry say that as he trusted Lupin to teach him to rid himself of the torment of the dementors and Hermione and Lupin never really had any time alone, for her to trust him for any special reason other than for a teacher/pupil relationship. |

If i recall, Lupin was never ment to be the funny one of the Marauders, he wasnt exactly the geek, but he was the inteligent one, you cant expect Lupin to be cool when he wasnt exactly cool in his Marauder days.
Lupin was the best character there in my oppinion, he wasnt geeky, Lupin was more on the lines Lovable than cool and deffinantly not Geeky, where that came from I dont know, because you cant exactly call a teacher cool.
He was older than I imagined him to be, but he was amazing!
I agree though that it was more concentrated on Hermione than Harry, but meh, we cant exactly help how they ran it, though I have to say that the best parts with Harry were cut out, like when he used the Patronus against he 'Dementor' when playing Quiditch.
But the film in my oppinion was the best, it wasnt boring and I think it was well made, though a tad shorter that I would have liked it to be. *Mumbles and walks off*

Very true! I loved Thewlis as Lupin, he played the character beautifully.
I truely loved the part where he was talking to Harry on the bridge about his parents, especially Lily, how could he be classed as 'boring'? Remarkable. I also loved the part on the bridge, Lupin(Thewlis) acted so much like a father in that part, he acted just as he did in the story and I loved it, it was the best part where the two are together, I adored it!
How someone could find that boring is beond me, really, I cant belive it Quote: I feel your pain! XD, Im glad somebody does |

I didn't like the movie that much, but I wouldn't say it was too boring. More like too fast-paced. And while I didn't think the actors playing Sirius and Remus looked like I'd imagined them, I thought they both played their characters really well.

I did love the film too. Boring isnt the right adjective for it. It was just not good enough. But its Harry Potter you just gotta love it.

I really don't think the film is boring and Lupin and Sirius were exactly like i imagined them to be.There were some parts which they didn't include in the film but they sould have like the Final Quidditch match! Anyway,I think the film was much better than the last two.

Yeah I suppose that it was a lil on Hermione!
When I saw David first and found out that he was to play Lupin I thought BAD choice but when I watched the movie- he fits the part puuuurfectly!!!!!! He's great as Lupin and Gary Oldman too!
Dan was cute in this one! His hair looked real coool !!!!
Rupert did a gr8888 job too!
Emma was simply super!
I absolutely LOVED the special effects and the small small extra details Afonso put in! It gives the movie a greaaat feel !
As Emma said you can definitely tell that there has been a change of directors!
I've already watched it twice after three days of release here in Goa!!!! |

BORING????????? Now that's just.... impossible! I think it's the best movie yet! How can it be boring Quote: Too much time was spent concentrating on Hermione and not Harry Potter. I think it's a good thing!!! Hermione was less... consentrated in the other 2 movies, but now she has a lot more attention! That's good in my opinion! But I don't think Hermione had more attention than Harry... |

I thought this was the least boring if all three! This was my fav. HP movie so far. Everything looked much more like I thought it would. The secenry, was awesome! Much more how a pictures Hargids hut... not just across the lawn. But Hermione was kind of the center of the film a little too much I think.
I also think Lupin and Sirius were great in the movie, when I first saw they were casted I was kind of 'ify' but once I saw them on screen I thought they were amazing and I have faith in the other new characters for GoF!

I didnt find Azkaban boring at all! the cast was good and the senes were great, in fact i feltt it was a bit rushed but twas the best of the 3..
though i didn't imagine Lupin to look like that, Lupin was played brilliantly n his presence was felt throughout the movie, But he wasn't geeky!

I thought it was a wonderful movie, much better and definitely more moving than the first two. The first two felt like they had been lifted right from the books and smushed onto the screen, with no cinematic or directing interpretation. And the the funny lines in this movie were much more hilarious and well-written than in the first two. Book 3 is my favorite in the series and movie 3 has a good chance of being my favorite movie in the series, as well! Oh, and I thought Thewlis did a good job portraying Lupin. Every fan is going to have a different opinion on what the character is like, and I certainly think that he did a good job acting as the new professor.
However, this 'Katy' is entitled to her own opinion, and I've heard other fans saying similar things that she wrote in her report. You are not expected to agree with her, but the mature thing is to respect her opinion and move on...who cares what someone else thinks?! It's up to you to determine if the movie was good for you or not.
