| | | Australian company to appeal against M rating
It was previously announced that ' Goblet of Fire' had been awarded an 'M' rating in Australia. While this does mean it's suitable for over 15s it does NOT mean that those under that age are restricted in seeing it.
However, the Herald Sun now reports that Village Roadshow, the film distributors, are planning to appeal against the decision. No date has been announced for the appeal.

| Why are they appealing if everyone's still allowed to see it?? Maybe I'm just being stupid. |

i told lissy about this the other day lol! isnt M like 12A so that children can go if they are with an adult?
It is/ looks like a bit scary so it is good that little children dont go after all it is such a pain to hear a 5year old going. "mummy why is harry sad"

Maybe we'll see our kids come here one day.

i think it's good to get a higher rating i mean it proves ppl wrong wh othink HP is a kid's thing... .and if you can still see it wiht an adult i dont see the problem

No. There are no such restrictions. It's just a guidance for parents. Quote:

No, it's not due out there til December 1st. And I'm sure they'll make a conscious effort to clear the matter before then.

i hope it stays at the M rating. Like CedricBlack Said it shows people that it isnt really a kids story. I dont reckon it will be changed. Do u know that the OFLC gave PoA an M rating? but they changed that.

I stand for the M rating. It's a very dark book/film and the 'M' rating will tell the public that not just any kid can go see it.

just seems like more complaints about how dark this movie is, like when people complained about Star Wars III's PG 13 rating

Court date..um,it's going to come out before they go to court. I think that if you read the book, you have an idea of what to expect for the movie. I do,however, agree with the ratings because actually seeing the details on screen may be frightening...but I also think if kids can handle the book, they can handle the movie.

In a way, i want them to keep the M rating, so annoying little children dont spoil my watching experience! Also i want to get back at children under 16, because they get all the HP competitions, so they may think they get the upperhand, but aha! they dont get the movie! BAH HAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!

Hmmm....i guess the rating's a bit too harsh....12 and 13 year olds should not be made to feel as they are little kids....
but hey, it doesn't effect me.....so i m kinda fine wid it....

I've always thought that the M rating was just right, if everything I've heard about the movie is true...
