| | |  Another HBP Reporter is announced
The Observer have announced that Rosie Jenkins, 10, from Cumbernauld, is their winner for the ' Half-Blood Prince' conference contest.
She will attend Edinburgh Castle on the book 6 release weekend, receive a signed copy, hear JK read and get to grill the author on the contents of the novel.
Rosie said she was 'screaming her head off' when she heard that she'd won. Quote:
'JK Rowling is my favourite writer,' Rosie said. 'She makes all the sentences really good and exciting. She's made me want to become a writer or a journalist or maybe a teacher.'
To win the competition, Rosie had to write a letter explaining why she would like to meet the author. One of the reasons she gave was that Harry Potter had taught her not to tolerate bullying. 'In the books Harry Potter, Hermione and Ron all stick together when Harry is being bullied by Draco Malfoy. I've not been bullied at school, but I know some friends who have.'
Rosie's mother, Irene, said the family was thrilled that she had won, but was still a bit 'shell-shocked'.

I agree 10 and 12 are rather young but that's probably, sadly, the age bracket they're going for. That way they don't ask too many hard questions. I can bet you, they'll ask, "Will Harry go out with Hermione?" or "Is Snape Harry's dad?". Even though the age limit is 16, I doubt they'll pick many people of that age. Still, I wish you all the luck in the world! Quote:
