Yesterday we reported that Amazon were sending emails out to all those who'd signed up for updates on Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince saying there was no forseeable release date for the item.
They have now sent out a new email saying the following: Quote:
Greetings from Amazon.com.
We're writing to correct a recent e-mail notification that we sent about "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (Book 6)."
In our e-mail, we stated that this title would not be immediately available from our suppliers, and that you may want to search for it elsewhere. While it's true that "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood
Prince" is not yet ready for eager readers, we do plan to notify you by e-mail when this book is available for pre-order on our web site.
We assure you that howlers have been sent to the muggles responsible for this action and we are investigating the possibility that You-Know-Who may have been involved.
We apologize for the incorrect notification that you received. Thank you for shopping at Amazon.com.
This means nothing in terms of a release date for the sixth book, it just means that they made an error with the previous emails that stated that the book would not be released in the forseeable future.

Oh.. Isn't that good? I mean, they're still gonna send e-mails once HBP is available for pre-order, right? I'd apply for a pre-order... but I'd rather reserve a copy at a nearby book store, wake up early in the morning and buy it. I can start reading it in the car on the way home! At least that's what I did with OoTP. *evil laugh*

Actually, I think we, the readers, will know the release date before Amazon. JK's said we'd find out on her site, so I'm guessing we'd know after the publisher's, of course, but before bookstores.

we never know when people find out when books are due. I certainly wouldn't trust Waldens to know, however, they dunno when book 9 of another series im reading is due out, and Amazon just told me the early part of january. I'd imagine that JK would tell us before Amazon and all found out, but we never really know for sure.....contracts and stuff........I'd imagine it'd be right within a couple days/week of eachother, cos many ppl would preorder asap........wouldnt we?
