Amazon have announced that as of March 31st, 2005, 700,000 copies of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince were pre-ordered through their website. Quote:
The Company has received 700,000 pre-orders for Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, the sixth book in J.K. Rowling's epic Harry Potter series. Amazon.com is offering its U.S. customers guaranteed delivery of the book on the release date, Saturday, July 16, 2005, for the same price as standard shipping, with free delivery for Amazon Prime members.

That is a LOT of books. I'm unhappy to say that I am not one of them. I haven't pre-ordered the sixth book from anywhere yet (pretty stupid on my part, i know), but I might do it at Walden Books or something, soon hopefully...

WAIT! I've been pre-ordered from Amazon and I did NOT pay a "standard" shipping fee. I had to pay EXPRESS for it to get to me on the 16th! Standard would have caused the book to arrive like on Tuesday or Wednesday!
