Allan Rickman Influences POA casting - Rickman colleagues with new POA cast

Article:

If you review the new characters casting choices you would
be hard put to find better actors/actresses for the role...

but their are a few interesting details that have been overlooked.
By recent review of Allan Rickmans filmography you'll notice
that he recently worked with two of the main characters before.

Michael Gambon appeared with Rickman in the 2002 edition
of "Standing Room Only". Gambon is by far the best choice
for Dumbledore since the previous actors death. One can only
assume that Rickman put in a good word for Gambon since they
had recently worked so closely together.

Another recent film starring Allan Rickman is "Love Acctually".
Though critics are mixed on the rating of this movie; Rickmans
performance is un-canny as always.

Emma Thompson, the pick of the litter for Proffesor Trelawny
stars opposite Rickman as his character's wife. I'm sure his
good impression of her acting ability lead to a kick-in-the-bum
for the casting director of POA.

Fans of HP can only hope that with the release of POA we
will get a glimpse of all the cast talents. Including those
new additions that got the thumbs up from our favorite
Prof. snape (rickman).

Yeah, I noticed that he had worked with Emma Thompson before, in quite a lot of movies actaully.

:whisle: Maybe it was just a coincidence that Alan Rickman had previously worked with the actors before.
Anyway, speaking of Alan Rickman, does anyone else here think that he rocked in "Dogma"? (Even though he didn't get that much screen time)

Ive heard something like this before, actors can put other actors forward for a part if they think they will be good enough, it helps the casting director aswell. I think Faith_87 explained this well, it has happened with other films too.

Tom Cruise wanted Nicole Kidman in Days of Thunder because he see her in Dead Calm with Billy Zane and just had to meet her, so he got her the part and well, the rest is History....
